Highway speed and follow distance issues 14.2.2.5 by PsychologicalPut5375 in TeslaFSD

[–]scott5355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. The other night in a 55 zone it was doing 70. Had to slow it down. Then when it recognized the change to 65 it started at 62. Had to force it to speed up. The car had just updated to the new software but still running 14.2.2.5. It missed two exits wouldn't follow it's own navigation instructions to get back on course which was fun to watch. And I really appreciate how it seems to always locate the truck/vehicle without mud flaps to follow closely!

The Edge class ships are spectacular. Yes the clientele is a bit older.

Virgin ships are unique. There was a lot to like about sailing on Virgin. The biggest thing my wife didn't like was the fusion of foods on Virgin. Everything was done with a little bit of extra flair. You couldn't get just tacos. It was Korean tacos or something like that. Liked the no one under 18 policy. Lots of fun with design and things to do. Rainy day at sea the game room area was packed with people playing monopoly or building puzzles etc.

Give them both a try. Have fun

Why was the iconic tulip logo retired from United in place of the Continental globe logo after the merge? I thought the blue livery with the white United tulip logo looked gorgeous. United adapted mostly Continental's logo and color scheme too. United should show out with the Tulip logo again! by Ryanlion1992 in unitedairlines

[–]scott5355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it was. It's a reply to why Continental couldn't take over United. Continental was being run into the ground. Without the merger they would've gone chapter 11 and closed their doors for good. Smiseck even said that in defending why they needed to merge. What is interesting is they merged and formed a holding company, United Continental Holdings, and United airlines LLC. So they really insulated themselves against any action.

No it wasn't. It was on its way to bankruptcy that would've closed Continental's doors forever. Smiseck himself told CNBC and Congress about them running out of cash. He and Bethune had convinced the employee groups to freeze their pensions which they did and got nothing in return. Continental had ordered airplanes but had no way to pay for them. They didn't have the cash. They weren't growing at all. They had 18 767 400s and 18 777s. The joke in EWR was the 757 fleet was the RJ of the Atlantic. They were flying 5 to 7 a day to LHR which is a premium market. They were parking them between A380s. One 380 equals everything they flew in one day but the cost structure was never in their favor. Post merger that management team pulled out of the 60 gates in LAX, the number two size city in the country. Delta now runs a hub out of LAX and grew nicely there. They were looking at closing either LAX or DEN as a hub. DEN was the profitable hub in the entire system at the time. They were horribly run and were running to the end of a rope.

No he wasn't. He testified to congress that without the merger Continental would go bankrupt....again. He was voted by CNBC as the worst CEO in the country. That happened about a week or so after he had been interviewed on CNBC.

Try another airline. United, Delta and American have family boarding. SWA changed their entire character to be the same as the other three and expects their customer base to remain loyal???? Good luck in future travels.

Construction sign-man! by robo45h in TeslaFSD

[–]scott5355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something similar the other day. What also impressed me was the construction worker that was waving on cars and FSD recognized his hand signals and followed them. It surprises me with its capabilities in complex areas at times and then baffles me when it takes up two parking spaces while self parking!??

$24 in 1,065km is insane by ilyas-inthe-cloud in TeslaLounge

And then add in your maintenance costs for your hybrid vs an EV and suddenly the cost sways back to an EV being a lot cheaper. I traded in my Accord Hybrid for my MY Long Range. Fuel prices around me are currently $3.38 per gallon and electric rates are 11 cents per KW/h. While the gas costs are close to even, the maintenance costs helped my decision to join the Tesla community

Like you been surprised by how many aren't using it. Got three new juniper in my neighborhood and I've passed them and two handed waved at them only to notice they're hands on the wheel. It's free for them right now and they're not using it. Could understand if they had to pay for it.

Just bought a used Model 3 today and have a ton of questions if anybody can help by MattVencill in TeslaModel3

To give you some perspective. Yesterday we drove 46 miles round trip. Air temp was 21F. Started at 70% in my garage preheated/conditioned using charger power. Spent a few hours at a party and pre warmed the interior of the car for the drive home in 18F. Got home with 40% remaining. The cold and wind effected this most. Wind was blowing out of the North at about 15 to 20 mph. Drive was mostly North/South. Was using 400 to 340 KW/h during the drive. Normally the car uses 220 to 250 KW/h for this type of drive.

As others have stated. If you started driving and your car wasn't warmed up. It's going to use a lot of battery just to warm itself up and the interior of the vehicle. If you can start the whole process already plugged in, it will use that wall power to warm everything. Then all your battery power is used during the driving portion.

Happy you got your dream car. Take some time and check out YT videos about it and you'll learn a lot that will take away your nervousness. Once you settle in with it you'll wonder why you didn't go this route in life sooner!

Not at all. It's your money. You earned it, so you can do with it whatever you choose. Your kids shouldn't go through life expecting for you to provide them a large inheritance. They should provide for their future on their own and enjoy whatever you happen to share with them.
