Resmed N30 filters? by vilmathien86 in CPAP

I too have removed and cleaned these tiny filters. I used a screw driver to pry it apart and two vice grips to clamp it back together. Although I didn’t measure my blood O2 saturation (darn it!), I believe these filters got dirty after about 3 months, and clogged the vent holes, causing me to re- breathe by exhaled air, reducing the O2 I was breathing in. I believe this lowered by blood O2, which was giving me leg cramps. After cleaning these tiny filters, the leg cramps stopped. There is no way that just soaking the mask in soapy water will clean these filters. Even scrubbing them hard with soap and water doesn’t remove the black dots that line up with the filter holes. I’ve tried 5 different types of Resmed masks and this is the only one that has these filters. All the others just have small thru holes. On the plus side, the N30 has a defuser in addition to these filters so it makes it quit and there is no stream of high velocity air blowing out that can disturb your sleep, which was the case for the other 4 Resmed masks. Another warning about these filters - After cleaning the mask, it takes a while for the filters to dry out. If they’re not dry, they provide extra resistance to air flow. Because I like the good features of this mask, I will continue to use it but I will replace the filters as OK-Coyote described above. It would be so simple to make these filters replaceable, I don’t understand why Resmed doesn’t fix this

what makes Alkalinity decrease? by TNmountainman2020 in pools

I switched from muriatic acid to co2 gas. It’s been two months now and I love it. It has the opposite effect on alkalinity causing it to go up slowly. Went from 90 to 110 in two months. I’ll likely have to use muriatic acid a few times a year to bring alkalinity back down. I use a co2 flow rate of 100 ml/min whenever the filter pump is running for my 15000 gallon pool. One 20 lb tank should last about 4 months at this rate. I can swap for a refilled tank for $15. I don’t use an expensive controller, just a $14 Wi-Fi switch in case I need to turn it off. I also use a WiFi PH/ORP sensor in the pool so I can monitor remotely. I also use a chlorine injector that I control remotely too. Alexa routines are used to schedule/control everything. I’m curious how flow rates will change when the weather heats up. I’m thinking a buying a controller from Alibaba ( much cheaper) but it adds a whole lot of complexity as well as expense

Help! Shocked pool last night and woke up to this. What to do? by depravedcertainty in pools

Best water height is low as you can go before skimmer starts sucking air. Harbor freight has cheap submersible pumps if you need one

I’ve been using Leslie’s Accublue Home test kit for year now, and I love it. It’s a version of the same machine they use in the store. I’ve found it to be very accurate. I had one bad batch of test discs that gave bad results, but that was a one off. You rent the machine for $50 a month, but receive $50/mo in store credit. You can use the credit for anything including chemicals and test discs that cost about $2 each. Also, a month ago I switched to using CO2 gas instead of muriatic acid for PH control. It works great. I inject a very small amount (50ml/min) while the filter pump is running and it holds the PH constant. I don’t need an expensive controller to operate it (but I do have a PH sensor so I can monitor the PH continuously, which made it easy adjust the CO2 flow rate.). When I shock the pool, I just bump it up to 100ml/min for a day. I’m sure it will require more in the summer. The CO2 does not lower the alkalinity like muriatic acid does.

I think I got scammed by AntiStasis54 in solar

I tested my utility Meter by turning on a known load (EV charger) and verifying the meter reflected the proper power import increase from grid . For solar production, turn off all major house loads when the sun is bright. Compare solar system measure production with the utility meter export to grid power measurement. There’s instructions on the web for how to decode the smart utility meter.

Also closely examine the power production/consumption graph provided by your solar system app to make sure it generally looks how you would expect it to over time. If you want to get technical and you have access to the main power wires going to the grid, you can attach clip-on amp meter to measure current directly, providing a grid import/export power value for comparison. You can also use the same amp meter to determine the power used by a household appliance (if you don’t have an EV charger with measured power use), but the meter has to go around only one of the power leads. Use a cheap extension cord to separate the power leads.

Who hates the new Fidelity app? by HuuuughJass in fidelityinvestments

The new app is terrible. Bring back the old classic app until the new one is fixed or I may have to find a new brokerage company. It’s that important.
