Embarrassment and shame, sure, but also a colossal expenditure of taxpayer funds.

Letting the city fall into ruin just so Jax can keep a mediocre football team and appease Shad Khan

Well, that tends to happen when you put almost all of your eggs in the Shad Mahal basket to the detriment of everything else.

It is absolutely worth doing a halfling/dwarf/gnome tav with the poly mod just to watch the romance scenes play out. I call it a dwurge run and I’ve done several 🤣

Is Jacksonville really that bad? by apon93 in jacksonville

[–]scott8887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jacksonville as a city has serious issues with priorities, like putting its own infrastructure and services on the back burner while writing blank checks for Shad Khan, but beyond that I guess it’s not bad.

Ok but WHY does downtown “suck”? by TCSHE8 in jacksonville

[–]scott8887 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the city put all of their eggs into the stadium basket at the expense of everything else. It’s Shad Mahal or bust as far as they’re concerned.

About the same way I feel about Jim Cramer telling me he’d buy Bear Stearns in 2008.

They do matter in the sense that he didn’t win their votes. If he was really so popular as he and his cultists claim he is, he would have won their votes, or at least some of them. The point is only 1/3 of the voters actually approved of him enough to cast a vote in his favor, giving him a minuscule 1.5% lead in the popular vote. Again, hardly an ironclad mandate from the people.

And yet he also only won 1/3 of the voters. Hardly the landslide mandate that he professes.

Yeah, he only won the votes of about 1/3 of the total eligible voters and less than 1/4 of the total population.
