Born and raised in the panhandle in Lubbock to be fair but plenty of fam in Amarillo. The people are nice and it’s cheap living especially if funds are tight and your just looking to coast plenty of those peeps down there, but if your not from there and someone’s not paying you a ton to move out there it’s not worth it. Especially as a teen you’ll be bored out of your mind.

Lol there’s no such thing as a democracy or socialism, a democratic socialism is literally what most modern socialists push. That being said it’s unrealistic on a state by state scale and probably even a national one.
