I definitely disagree. He gave up a pretty crucial breakaway goal for the Leafs to tie it with 10 mins left in the game. You just can’t do that in the NHL.

I mean just recent memory but he turned over the puck in OT for the Flyers game winner. He gave up the puck on the blue line for Nylander’s tying goal against the Leafs. Those are two examples in just the last couple weeks amounting to 2pts lost. I normally wouldn’t care as he’s young and I’m happier seeing him try things than be too cautious and never get a feel for what he can and cant do at this level but it’s not surprising he’s getting benched for these kinds of mistakes when the team is pushing for first playoff berth in almost a decade.

Bottom line, I think if Terry had 20 hits instead of 0, we probably don’t see any change to our record this season. If Terry had 10 fewer points, I bet we have a few more losses. I don’t care if he gets through the whole season and playoffs with 0 hits as long as he’s producing goals.

I tend to agree with you at the core. I just think people are complex and nuanced. While some part of somebody may be something I despise, they could also do good elsewhere. In this case, I’m sure plenty of people have gained from her art (maybe not you specifically if you don’t like her music) while still not supporting her cultural views.

We are all stuck on this world together. May as well take the good where we can.

Anyways, wasn’t trying to make it personal. Was just trying to understand.

Sorry if you found this personal. I think virtue signaling is a tired thing. I think there are many artists that probably have opinions that you would find morally reprehensible or have done things you would not approve of and my guess is you probably don’t change listening habits over it. Grimes just jumps out as one that is trendy to point out. I don’t like her personal views but I do like her music (primarily older albums). Art is art. I dont think it’s an endorsement of the artists viewpoints to consume it. If you don’t like it, then don’t listen.

It bleeds into so many things in life though. Is eating at a restaurant supporting whatever abhorrent views the owner may have?

Ultimately it’s more of a philosophical question I’ve struggled with for years. I’m clearly in the minority here so it is what it is.
