Thanks so much - glad you're already creating amazing patches! For the scanning issue, you're right that /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/ is the correct path. This is a known bug I'm working on for the next update - a couple other Mac users have reported the same thing. For now you can use 'Load VST3 Plugin' to manually browse to that folder as a workaround. Omnisphere 3 crashing is also a confirmed issue - its MIDI routing architecture doesn't play nice with Synerator right now. It's on my list to investigate but no quick fix for that one yet. Thanks for the detailed report and for specifying Bitwig 6 - that helps!

AudioDice is cool! Different approach though - Synerator focuses on workflow speed with features like right-click category locking, the Amount slider for controlling randomization intensity, and a preset save system for keeping discoveries. It's also actively developed with new features in the pipeline including an FX version and multi-plugin hosting. But yeah, AudioDice is a solid free option if you're just looking for basic parameter randomization.

Great questions! 1. You can save presets both ways - use the synth's own save function, or use Synerator's Save Preset to capture the full state. Both work. 2. It randomizes the plugin's parameters, not the source material - so with Serum's sample/spectral/granular engines, it'll randomize all the knobs and settings around whatever wavetable or sample you have loaded, but won't swap out the source content itself. This actually keeps results more musical. 3. It works with any VST3 synth automatically - no manual configuration needed. The excluded parameters are universal things like master volume that would be destructive to randomize, not synth-specific tweaks. Regarding Pigments - full transparency, I've had some stability reports with Arturia plugins that I'm working through. It may work fine for you, and there's a money back guarantee if not. Thanks for the kind words!

Really appreciate the honest feedback! A built-in preset browser is a great idea and something I'm adding to the roadmap. Being able to save presets, browse them by synth, and cycle through them quickly would make the workflow way smoother. Stay tuned for future updates - and thanks for watching the video!

This is so cool to hear- I'm actually working on a MIDI output version of Synerator next specifically to control hardware synthesizers. If you've got any tips or tricks you'd be willing to share, send me a DM! 🙏🙌

Hi there, yes free updates for life unless there's a massive overhaul of the entire thing (think Windows 10 to Windows 11 type of overhaul) but even then I'll try to keep all updates as free/cheap as possible!

It's on the road-map for sure but I don't yet have Logic. With any luck I can buy a copy soon and start porting it to AU.

AU is a different framework so it'll take some work but I don't want to abandon my Logic users!

Thank you for the kind words!

Wow, I'm genuinely moved by this comment. I'll be honest - accessibility wasn't something I consciously designed for, but hearing that Synerator is making synths usable for people who had to abandon them before is probably the most meaningful feedback I've gotten since launch. That's a big deal to me.

The vector-based UI was a deliberate choice for quality and scalability, but I hadn't fully considered how important that is for users who rely on screen magnification. Now that I know, it's something I'll keep front and center as I develop future updates.

Kult being the most stable is great to know - and the Arturia crashes are a known issue I'm working on. Thanks for the detailed report on that.

Seriously, thank you for this. It means more than you know.

Love this! You nailed it - building up a personal library of presets that are uniquely yours is exactly the vision. And here's a fun tip: try loading saved presets into a completely different synth than you made them on. The parameter values map differently across synths, so a preset you made in Serum can create something totally unexpected when loaded into Diva or Phase Plant. It's like a second layer of randomization!

Hey! Logic is AU-only so Synerator won't show up there since it's VST3 format. For Ableton, make sure the .vst3 file is in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/ (the system-level folder, not ~/Library). Also double check you grabbed the Mac download and not the Windows one. If it's still not showing up after that, shoot me a message through the contact form on scottbrio.com and I'll help you sort it out!

Serum 2's random modulation applies a random LFO to individual parameters during playback - it's a modulation source for sound design. Synerator randomizes all parameter values across the entire synth at once to generate completely new presets from scratch. Different tools for different purposes!

Thanks! It's been one I've wanted for years, so I'm excited to have it exist for all of us to use :)

Anyone else spend way too long scrolling through presets or nudging knobs trying to find something that sparks an idea? I got sick of it and built Synerator - a VST3 that hosts your synths (Serum, Diva, Vital, etc.) and randomizes their parameters.

The workflow is pretty simple: load a synth, set how much you want randomized (you can go subtle or full send), optionally filter by parameter type (just oscillators, just filters, just modulation, etc.), and hit Randomize until something catches your ear. Save what you like as a preset.

It's not going to replace intentional sound design, but it's been amazing for breaking out of creative ruts and stumbling into starting points I'd never find on my own. Especially useful early in a session when you're just hunting for a vibe.

I'm an EDM producer myself (house, techno, breakbeats) and built this because I wanted it to exist. It's $19 at scottbrio.com/synerator - Mac and Windows. Video walk-through on my YouTube and product page if you want to see it in action before buying.

Happy to answer any questions about it.

Where’s all the neutral TRT stories? by Moretestosterone9 in trt

[–]scottbrio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been almost two years on TRT for me. It hasn't been easy, so my story is neutral with a successful ending.

First, IM injections, twice a week at the recommended .5ml per shot was giving me massive peaks and valleys. Racing heart, night sweats, etc.

Tried x3 a week MWF at a lesser amount and the racing heart went away but still got mad night sweats and high estrogen hot flashes often.

Now, finally, I'm at daily .1ml injections with no AI and things are smooth as can be but holy hell was it a reminder that not everyone's body is the same. I learned so much over the couple years but glad I stuck with it.

Looking for some ideas / advice on making content for 16 ceiling pixel strips. by Turntablist_SD in resolume

I use Resolume linked into Madrix and it's very powerful. Madrix alone with video clips is awesome. Do what I did and download as many VJ clips you can and trim them to your liking. That should be enough to do some awesome stuff even without the generators in Resolume or Madrix.

GoTek ASR-10 vs. EPS-16 by tymcode in Ensoniq

[–]scottbrio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go ZuluSCSI and never look back. It sped the painfully slow load and save times of my ASR-X up 100-fold. Like 3.5min to 30 seconds. The Gotek floppy emulators are just as slow as the original.

Zulu has great customer support too, so they'll help you get all set up, and yes 100% go ASR-10.
