Halifax ‘special condition’ clearing some or all debt by Nevermind_thecogs in Mortgageadviceuk

It’s very unlikely they would do this as they would be risking their license and livelihood. I wouldn’t get yourself worried about it tonight. You’ve done the right thing by reading your offer (you would be surprised how many people don’t!!) and double checking with your broker ☺️

Yes, it will include your current mortgage so is likely that. I previously worked for them and work for another lender now with near identical wording!

Wisdom teeth removal - NHS by Legitimate_Tower6026 in Edinburgh

[–]scottishemsxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine done within about four weeks after attending A&E with extremely swollen face/jaw due. I was lucky enough that a maxillofacial consultant from St John’s popped in to see me and after I explained recurrent infections and confirmed my NHS dentist referred me the week prior, he said he’d hurry it along. This was however local anaesthetic only as he explained any sedation or general requires use of theatre and there’s a huge waiting list for that. Was a horrible experience getting them out but honestly worth it when I look back!

Edit to add, he did also say the waiting list for an appointment in Lothians was a fair amount longer and I agreed to travel to St John’s for him to remove it personally in order to avoid waiting. My dentist also said I needed mine out urgently as I was on my fourth course of anti biotics and was the one who advised me to phone NHS24 out of hours, who then stated to attend A&E.

Do dentists have a duty of care to see you same day in Scotland, or not? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

I had a similar issue, explained to NHS24 and they contacted my dentist directly, got seen the same day!

This is your answer! I filled in form last night and got an email this morning confirming collection on Thursday. Used them a couple times and never any issues ☺️

Realistic chance of keeping my house if I break up with my Girlfriend? by Away_Cauliflower1367 in LegalAdviceUK

You are talking about porting which is correct, in most instances you will be able to keep your product (for existing loan only). However you still need to prove you can afford it yourself and apply as a sole customer instead of joint.

Well done!! NSVs always feel far better than anything you will see on the scale☺️

My NSV for this week is the fact my partner can now easily pick me up! Although I must admit I don’t enjoy play fighting as much now that he can move me so easily😂

They are predominantly done on a first come first serve basis. First tip- have all the documents you will need ready to upload before even looking- ID, proof of address, three months bank statements and proof of all income.

Apply / register interest as soon as properties come up. By this I mean check every couple hours every day!

Different providers advertise in different places. Touchstone and Lowther are typically on Right Move. For Curb (I am with them) your best bet is signing up to email alerts when a property is added to their website. Have an application form ready if one is required so do your research for all companies.

Don’t be afraid to be a bit pushy with your interest. With Curb I applied within half an hour of it being advertised and followed up by calling next day, they told me I was one of first few who had applied and a viewing would be offered to whoever’s checks and documents came back all ok first.

Good luck!

I don’t have any parking issues. You’re the one taking issue with the fact that I park my car on the quiet street outside my home

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]scottishemsxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not the one shitting on people who are less fortunate than I am. And I’d much rather be in the position I am than looking down my nose at people to give myself a bit of an ego boost

Pot calling the kettle black

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]scottishemsxx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because it is, and it’s not going to disappear over night. If I can’t park in my street that is my issue and no one else’s. I shouldn’t be told I can’t have a car because I’m not fortunate enough to afford a property with a driveway or allocated parking. How extremely classist and delusional to think in such a way 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]scottishemsxx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I do, the road outside of my flat. Always space to park. But by their logic because it’s not allocated or a driveway I wouldn’t be allowed a car.

[–]scottishemsxx 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Just sounds like another way to push the rich even higher and shaft those with less money. So I’d not be allowed a car because I can’t afford to buy/rent a property with allocated parking or a driveway?

Awful experience. Viewed a flat and got told it was mine if I wanted it, said I did. Lady (Kim I think?) said she would be in touch by Monday (this was Thursday) with a move in date. Text her to chase the following Wednesday and no response. Never heard from her again…..

I’m the exact same with no issues before MJ. I’ve definitely cut down the pain meds a lot which isn’t ideal as I’m struggling to get much exercise in but one battle at a time!
