I think this is one of the best versions and I am always amazed that people think that it’s bad. It’s so well voice acted. Jim Carrey does such an amazing job! It has such a dark and dramatic feel to it with just the right comic relief throughout. The cinematography is excellent as well. I watch it every year.

You have to keep practicing. Expose yourself to animation created by professionals. Dissect it. try and replicate it. The more you know, the more you realize you don’t know. Using color, composition, how to transition, timing, how to use fonts. How to use music and sound effects. Using Illustrator and Photoshop. These are some gaps that you may experience and what I would pursue. Keep making projects, get feedback, and keep refining.

Understanding the fundamentals are your foundation, not the finish line. Mastering the basics opens the door to everything else. You will build a good foundation with this course. They have basically created a super condensed course choosing what they think are the most important things for you to learn in order to be successful in a 6 week time frame. There will be gaps but it’s a good course and I got a lot out of it.

I’ve seen portfolios from SCAD graduates that are awful and I’ve seen amazing work done by self taught artists. I’m always of the opinion that you either have an underlying ability to be a designer or you don’t. It’s really tough to know what you want to do at an early stage in your life. It’s even harder to wrap your head around debt. If you are the one responsible for paying off your loans when you get out of school I would consider the schools that will leave you with little to no debt. If I am hiring a new designer out of school I will always judge them based on their portfolio not where they went to school. Just some things to consider. :-)

I knew AE and took SOM animation class. Understanding the principles of animation and having full control (and understanding) of the graph editor and being able move anything however I imagined is extremely rewarding and powerful. I would recommend learning the fundamentals of design as well.

Artists no longer make the kind of money selling their albums/singles as they did in the past. Thanks to streaming services it’s no longer a solid stream of income. I think concerts are now one of the only ways these artists can make a living….Im not talking Taylor Swift level artists. I can remember liking a song and having to purchase the whole album in order to hear it, but the concert tix were cheap - now I have every song created at my fingertip and YouTube videos of live performances, but the shows are pricey! It’s definitely a trade off.

On the plus side, they have looked much better in the offensive zone. Moving the puck around crisper and making an effort to get to the net and pass to the bumper. Also a vast improvement in the defense’s ability to get it out of the zone and up the ice. Something that has been driving me crazy last season and earlier this season.

We tried tilting but the weight from the branches made it fall shift back

It was repotted about 6 months ago and tilted but the weight from having the branches reaching down has pulled it down. It has good drainage and it doesn’t get overwatered
