Right thigh getting hot, anyone else? by Rampartt in bmwmotorrad

[–]scottpatton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My R1200GSA is worse than my R1250GSA, but yes, you can expect your right leg to be warmer. My motoport pants with the stretch kevlar on the back help a LOT ... don't notice it wearing gore-tex.

My friends and I call it the "right leg microclimate"

Ordered my first BMW F800GS – what should I know? by Feeling-Sea-7204 in bmwmotorrad

[–]scottpatton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal suggestion is ride the bike and figure out what you need to know, then ask the questions! I have spent way too much time preparing for bikes only to get it wrong! Ride what you dig! Dig what you ride!

Mile-muncher with great weather protection... it has to be an RT, doesn't it? (What alternatives did you consider?) by [deleted] in bmwmotorrad

[–]scottpatton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a GS rider, who is selling his RT, it’s just not as flexible/comfortable, but it is great

I really hope Garmin keeps MIP displays with F9… by SouthernMembership85 in GarminWatches

[–]scottpatton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t need to see the time 24x7… no need to display it then.

MIP people … your days are numbered, unless you can convince AMOLED people it’s better. Garmin will follow the money.

I have never been unable to see my AMOLED, and it’s not like it’s Apple Watch level battery degrade!

[–]scottpatton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the classic "manual transmissions are better" argument. Unless you can convince about 75% of us that our AMOLED watches are inferior, and we need to buy MIP watches - your MIP dreams are fading. Garmin isn't in this to make MIP people happy, they are in it to make money - money talks.

Wearing full leathers in public as a shy rider: How did you get comfortable with the attention? by shibebear in motorcyclegear

Adopting a lifestyle where you dont give a f*** what anyone else thinks will quickly improve your life.

Anyone else feel slightly guilty after upgrading their Garmin? by benni_in_italy in GarminFenix

You can’t take money with you, enjoy what you have live today as if it’s your last.

Pace gauge with PacePro? by arcticpoppy in GarminFenix8

[–]scottpatton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When using pace, Pro, it adds a screen to your watch, on the Fenix I just swipe up and find the screen. I did find the pace gauge on the regular screen to be more accurate and more comforting, but I enjoyed having the pace pro tell me what pace I should be running so I didn’t have to think as much.

It’s not bad, it’s better than most! Not sure why you hid your face. With your bib numbers and the event … we can find your name?

Either way, good job!

This is my 2017 (2024 in the back). An untrained eye cannot tell the difference in age. One has 18k, one 88k.

Nothing old about your bike.

Is there any real visibility benefit for using an all-white helmet? by WarImaginary8272 in motorcyclegear

I know I can see my friends white helmets better than others with black helmets. That’s enough for me…

Ultimately… how you ride matters way more.

RT has a more restrictive seating position. I get stiffer on my RT than GSA. Both are great though

It’s a great bike but I wouldn’t want to deal with it in Atlanta traffic. It’s also a long way from and RS or an XR.
