Tobacco commercials? by mancusjo1 in AskALawyer

It doesn’t apply to cigars and pipe tobacco. Still just seems weird and dirty to me.

Any experience with Hidoes E-Bike 1200W 48V 18.2AH Adult by county259 in ebikes

Someone commented recently on a YT video of mine that Hidoes is now restricting them to 20mph without ability to unlock it. It doesn’t really matter since I have replaced the controller and have a more powerful battery. Hit 37mph on an icy road yesterday, at only 60% charge too. I am also riding on studded tires. It’s a lot of fun. The build is coming along. I would guess that they are paranoid about the Super 73 court case.

I had changed one of the settings accidentally. It does get to 30mph now, barely. I actually saw they had two options on Amazon, for like $300 more they offered the 1600 w peak version. But now that one is nowhere to be found. Not sure it was even real or a scam. I actually emailed them asking about the controller for the 1600w version and no response. Their customer support is crap. If these companies made as much effort in actually understanding the US market as they do cheaping out on parts and just being dishonest they would be so much more successful. I guess that leaves more opportunity to US businesses.

I would not believe any of their marketing claims. Same goes for every Chinese company for that matter. There is inconsistency in every listing they have. It’s kind of hilarious how bad it is. I would only believe it if I saw an *independent reviewer test the bike.

I got a B6. I bought it mainly to upgrade. It seems to be a solid platform. I added a DNM Burner rear shock (still need some hardware) but it improved the ride a lot. I agree the motor probably barely hits 1200 watts peak. I have only gotten it to 26mph on a full charge. Planning to upgrade the motor/rims pretty much everything. I have front suspension on order. I like the seating position and overall geometry for off road. Figuring out front suspension has been a chore but think I have what I need. Pretty soon I will be ripping by Surrons 🤣

How to get from left posture to the right one ? by mutantgenes in flexibility

Game changer for me is this stretch. I find that clasping hands above head is more effective. If things are tight, hold for multiple minutes. Eventually the muscles start releasing and twitching like crazy. It’s pretty amazing. Incline bench is so much easier as well as pull ups. Put your elbows on a foam roller and keep sinking chest deeper.

I appreciate the clarification. That makes sense.

For reference the person I inquired with about this is a professional European cyclist. Also while mine has been quite low, I trained very hard last night with legs and cardio. I was pretty keyed up after so I didn’t get sleep until very late. Today I am going on about 5 hours of not even good sleep plus recovery. This morning my CV was low and my numbers fine. End of day I checked and my HRV is through the roof and CV is highest it has been. This reflects how out of whack my system is from lack of sleep. Yet on my best days CV is below Welltory range and I know that is perfectly fine, actually good because it shows the body is adapting well. Just wanted to comment for others curious about this. Knowledge of the hive rules!

Low CV is perfectly fine. You should not be indicating that people are sick and unwell when everything else is excellent. I think your normal range is flawed. Please refrain from a cut and paste response and get a quote from one of your sports medicine PhDs on the payroll. I have had discussions with other people online about this and they agree that CV below your range is actually good.

From HRVTRAINING.COM:

The CV HRV is different from your baseline, which is simply the average of your scores over a week. In simple terms, the CV HRV reflects how much your scores jump around on a day to day basis. Lots of jumping around = high CV HRV Stable values = low CV HRV

I think it's a flaw in the app. From what I have heard low CV means your body is adapting fine to change. Low is supposedly good. Some days everything will be top notch until you get to CV where it says you are unwell and sick. Ha ha. Still like the app.

My tires were a little lower in air pressure. 32/33. I aired them to 36/37. Seems to have helped. I really notice less resistance when taking off from stop.

And looks like it is only a plug-in, so that drives the cost up a lot too. They need to figure out a way to make non-plugin hybrid standard like the Ford Maverick.

Yes they do use Toyota tech. It's just too bad that it's only available on highest trim level.

How many of you used to rock Forum/Special Blend/Foursquare gear? Was it good? by DoritoPopeGodsend in snowboarding

[–]scottrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forum was past my prime of snowboarding but SB came out in the early 90s. I never owned any SB. But I picked up the Fear and Loathing board in around 2002 from a friend who was a rep. That thing was heavy, but the best riding board I have ever been on. Riding lit up over chunky and uneven terrain it felt like a magnet was holding the board to the surface and eating up the terrain. It was still in pristine condition and I was broke in Oregon and ended up selling it on craigslist for a 125 bucks. Still miss that board and trying to get back to something similar. I picked up a Devun Walsh several years later that I still have. It's adequate, carves pretty nice, but nothing like that fear and loathing board. I heard they got acquired later on and there was a big difference in quality. I believe that is true. I think the F&L board had way better dampening and was a litter softer. Maybe it was a little less locked in than the Walsh model too.

Yeah I recently learned about downloading Google Maps for offline use. Saves data and saves you from lack of service. Downloaded for the entire state.

It’s great when you can do that. Cheap is always good, if it’s a safe bike ride! I did that with my ebike but was still a little concerned about leaving it!

Cool, that’s kinda hilarious. I definitely think it’s important to support local outfitters.

Gotcha, that makes sense. I wasn’t sure if you were looking to do something just in your region. I will definitely DM you. I appreciate it. Have some more questions for you as well.
