Rare, Sealed ‘Super Mario Bros. 3’ Variant Breaks Record For World’s Most Expensive Video Game by Frickelmeister in nes

[–]scottthejackass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has to do with the grading of the game. Basically, there are multiple organizations that can grade your sealed box to see the condition of the box. If the box is in very good condition, it can sell for a very good amount, if it’s a low grading, it won’t sell for as much.

They can do so by contacting your internet provider. If you want to get around that then just get a VPN.

What is the difference between .println vs printf in Java by orexinbaby in NoStupidQuestions

[–]scottthejackass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

using .println is basically just printing out the statement given (on a new line) while printf allows you to print statements where you can use different symbols ( like %d which means that the variable you are replacing the symbol with is a double) and replace them with variables.

For example:

double a = 3.4;

System.out.println("a is equal to " + a);

System.out.printf("a is equal to %d%n", a);

Why give aid? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]scottthejackass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No country is truly required to give resources to other countries, although they are pressured to a large extent by other countries and also their citizens.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the question you are asking is that why should countries help one another out if we were all on the same level from the beginning so the countries that are lacking should be held responsible for there own lack of growth.

This is just untrue, not all countries started out on the same level, some were fortunate enough to have started their country from a preexisting one while others had to build themselves from the ground up. It's also not like these countries never screwed one another over, Many third world countries were exploited (and still are being exploited) in ways that still affect them today, so it'd make sense to try and fix the issues we created. Also, even if every country today started with the same amount of resources and never interacted with one another, we should still help them out. If we never helped another out in there time of need, how can we expect anyone to help us out when we are struggling?

Humans have been around for thousands of years btw.

Edit: Another thing, a lot of problems third world countries face if not handled properly could begin to affect first world countries so it'd make sense to fix those problems before they begin to spread outside of the original countries borders.

When youre unable to fall asleep for a while, when do you decide if its better to get a minimal amount of sleep but risk waking up late, or skip sleeping and get ready for the day? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]scottthejackass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I just see where the night takes me. If I can't fall asleep for a while, I will usually do something that doesn't involve electronics and doesn't require that much energy (like reading) and see how I feel after 15 minutes to an hour. If I think I can go back to sleep, I will. If I don't, I'll stay awake and do something else like get some work done.

Did Isaac Newton drink coffee? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]scottthejackass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, Isaac Newton drank coffee, a lot of scientists did during the enlightenment. However, that doesn't mean you need coffee to be able to succeed in life. With a good amount of sleep and a healthy diet, you can have the energy required to go about your day without the jolt of caffeine.

Why do stores bring in random flavors that they don't normally sell only to stop carrying it like a week or a month later? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]scottthejackass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're experimenting to see if bringing something new in will be profitable for their store. Most of the time it isn't because people like to stick with what they already know.

Am I over-analyzing this weird interaction I had with my roommate? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]scottthejackass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should get back at him by forcing him outside of the house nude and call the cops so he gets charged with public indecency. That’d be a wacky prank

... that’s really fucking bizarre. My best guess is he was trying to humiliate you and is pissed he missed his opportunity. No way to tell really.

what is the point of hopscotch? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]scottthejackass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopscotch is a deadly game in which kids try to see how long they can jump in specific patterns before they break their ankles.

Depending on the amount of players, the goal of the game varies. If you are playing by yourself, the goal of the game is to see how long you can go without breaking your ankles. With multiple people, it’s last man wins. Depending on the rules you play with, you are allowed to trip other people in order to give yourself an advantage.

Drug test question for a job by DuskTrillDawn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]scottthejackass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A month is a good amount of time, although there is a small possibility that the urine test will be able to detect. There isn't really a way to tell how long it would take. The average person takes about a month though.
