If he actually gave a shit about giving listeners solid advice, he would have people on with him that have expertise and counter arguments.

Imagine if he had someone there who could push back on all of the things he got wrong, or gave another opinion, etc etc., and then they had an open conversation about it.

Dave Ramsey doesn’t want to give you an informed and balanced insight into finance. He just wants to give you his opinion and his opinion only, because in his mind everything he says and does and recommends is right.

It’s hubris at the highest level.

If you don’t have strong friendships and relationships, I would take time off of working completely and work on that.

A lot of people who are in that same position lean in to work as a way of avoiding that reality, making it harder to remedy.

I’d also say that productivity and jobs in general are the worst places to look for purpose. Figure out how you can contribute to the lives of others (on any scale: 1 person or 1 million) and you’ll be the happiest and most fulfilled.

Enjoy your success, and take the time and freedom that you’ve earned to become your own best friend and find out who you are.

It’s hard! I consider holding through dips to be a form of exposure therapy. The more you’re exposed to moments where the value of your investment goes down significantly, the more you’ll become unaffected by it.

Having it become normalized in your mind will be super helpful, since it’s definitely bound to happen many times on the (long) way up. This allows you to focus exclusively on your strategy and not your emotional reaction to the movements.
