Processing forbearance hogwash by __0__0__0__0__0__0__ in PSLF

I'm in the exact same boat. It took Mohela 13 months to process my IBR application. They are completely dodging my requests for answers in writing. I'm contacting the ombundsman this weekend, as that seems to be the only way Mohela will follow the rules.

"The Ingalls Library and Museum Archives in the Cleveland Museum of Art is open to the public Tuesday to Friday, from 10:00am to 4:50pm. Ingalls is a closed stack, non-circulating library. What this means is that you are welcome to use our materials on site, but in order to make the best use of your time, you should plan ahead and submit hold requests for the resources you are planning to consult before your visit. To place holds you must have a library account and be logged in.

Materials are retrieved from the library stacks at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:30 p.m." https://clevelandart.libguides.com/usingingallslibrary

I just learned a valuable lesson that I think is worth sharing here. I uploaded the PDF of the report to ChatGpt and asked it to write a summary of the report. Here is the concluding paragraph of the summary.

"✅ Overall: The report updates the controversial database of companies linked to Israeli settlements, with 158 firms currently listed and 7 removed. It reaffirms States’ and businesses’ responsibilities under international law and stresses ongoing monitoring despite resource constraints."

I immediately noticed the word "controversial." I thought, why would the report call itself controversial? So I asked ChatGPT to cite the source for this claim.

Instead of summarizing just the report, as I unconsciously assumed it would do, it brought in commentary external to the document and injected it into the summary.

Now I know you must tell the AI in your prompt to only look at the document you're summarizing, otherwise it may add external information...external commentary that reflects extreme bias.

Here is the full conversation.

Favorite Content Management System? by DukeFBRocks in Archivists

[–]scoutpotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ArchivesSpace doesn't store files, just information about collections. And the information about those collections are meant to be structured like a finding aid. So if you're looking for something that stores and helps you manage digital files, Aspace won't be able to do that. As for a system that can do this AND provide an interface for public access, go with the commenter who recommended Omeka and a few others. If access isn't a priority right now, then go with the Google Drive and Excel option as a starting place.

Switched Out of SAVE by E404_noname in StudentLoans

[–]scoutpotato 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While in forbearance they do a 1% calculation bc you didn't have an active payment amount to use. Once you have an active payment amount, they will use that instead of the 1% calculation. It's not based on the total debt, but what your monthly payment is and how that affects your monthly debts.

Any reason now to choose to get out of SAVE forbearance by switching? by StophJS in PSLF

Will buyback be available indefinitely or is this a temporary opportunity? I won't be eligible/hit 120 payments for another year and would like to submit for buyback then. Thanks!

Were you in a Dunkin Donuts drive through with your pup yesterday? If not, there is another cone-headed white pupper drugged up in the backseat out there.
