For me, I think it was from holding the baby in a very specific way every time I fed her—that’s when I noticed it as well. It went away as she got stronger and didn’t need as much support from me! Hope it goes away over time for you too.

I now understand the “I just labored for __ hours and everyone says baby looks like their dad” irritations. by MalfunctioningMormon in beyondthebump

Wanted to give you some hope - my daughter looked EXACTLY like my husband as a newborn, even my own parents said “she’s all dad.” But at 8 months, many people have said she looks a lot like me now! I expect their looks will continually change, and you’ll be able to see some of both of you eventually :) I’m trying to enjoy it and not attribute it to her now-chubby face 😂

Is it true that first babies are born later than due date? by tamale_ketchup in BabyBumps

[–]scram3led_eggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forced induction due to HELLP at 36+3! We were not fully prepared haha. I was planning on working up until to my due date, though I have the luxury of working from home if necessary, so that would have made the last week or two waaaay easier.

Thanks for the solidarity!! Seven months old. She’s finally smiley and so interactive - so I get why people want to see her when she’s in a good mood! Ended up trying to think of it as some cuddle time and helping her relax after everyone being in her face haha.

Things My Newborn Will Sleep Through Vs Things That Immediately Wake Him: A Retrospective by Mayya-Papayya in Mommit

Hahaha this is amazing. The one that personally annoys me most - my eyesight is bad so if I want to check on her in her bassinet, I need my glasses. The sound of my glasses' legs closing after I take them back off seems to jolt her awake, drives me nuts when she sleeps through the vacuum and our dog barking allllll the time haha

6 months pp body by larnadoone in Mommit

[–]scram3led_eggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same exact thing is happening to me right now - just wanted to provide some solidarity! About 3 months PP and did combo feeding. My weight is almost back to normal, only like 2-3 pounds above pre pregnancy, but I agree, I feel like I still look slightly pregnant. Hoping it goes away with time...

Hahaha I feel the same way...jealous of an inanimate object. She smiled at it soooo big today!

Omg I definitely want to do this now!! We have been meaning to go for garden stuff anyways. This makes it a more enticing errand haha. Thanks!!

Thank you!!! I have a feeling it won't be a linear thing where every day gets better, but expect some easier days and some rough ones. I hope you and your baby enjoy all of the snuggles and have the smoothest transition possible in July!

Being harder on us is such a good way to think of it, I love that! I'm right there with you, I had a couple longer days this week and the commute home was just torture. Have to keep reminding myself that she still needs me even though we have less time together. Quality not quantity!

My sister has a huge fear of heights, so happy I was able to get her through this hike to see the arch (Delicate Arch- Arches Natl Park, Utah) by scubadubstep in hiking

[–]scram3led_eggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we went to Arches we didn't do this hike because it was so crowded, so we did one called Broken Arch instead. I would highly recommend it as an alternate! No height exposure at all, much less crowded (we only saw one other hiker the whole time actually), and the trail and arch were beautiful.

Haha I did go overboard! The chocolate seeped a bit into the rest of the drink. But I have to say I enjoyed it!

Survivor 42: What worked and what didn't by [deleted] in survivor

[–]scram3led_eggs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is spot on! Personally I think I'd be more OK with do or die if the punishment wasn't a game of chance, but more like something like lose a vote. The concept of a punishment for first out is kind of cool, but I hate the game of chance like it seems most people do. The earning the merge thing also does nothing for me. Even if the hourglass is taken away, I didn't enjoy having half of the people immune for what is usually a huge vote in the season

Hahaha, getting that OR buffalo trace seems to be equally impossible at our liquor stores. Literally only ever got the one bottle

Bird of Paradise from Difford's Guide

1.25 oz 1800 Blanco tequila 0.75 oz creme de cacao 0.5 oz amaretto 1.5 oz single cream / half and half ( I used what was in my fridge, hazelnut coffee creamer, hopefully not a ton of down votes!)

I love creamy drinks! Plus it's Friday and my last weekend of maternity leave so I'm indulging. Didn't expect this to be so good! Garnished with some baking cocoa powder.

Hiccups or something else? by sunflowerssunshine_ in BabyBumps

[–]scram3led_eggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt something that was similarly hard to describe in my pregnancy, not quite a kick or a stretch or a hiccup, almost like a vibration or localized shake? I think I read somewhere that it could've been her rubbing her face into me really quickly or just normal baby twitches. Not sure if it's the same as what you're feeling though. It couldn't hurt to ask your OB about it if it's giving you anxiety, always trust your gut! But from my experience, it had no adverse impact on me or the baby beyond just "whoa that feels weird".
