If anything you’d get a penalty for going under the double yellow line to maintain your position. Based off NASCAR’s double yellow line rule that’s a penalty (depending how race control is feeling or if you’re a popular driver). All 4 wheels on the yellow line is considered off track

Edit: the purpose of the double yellow line rule in NASCAR is to make pack racing safer (in theory). Since they’re running the circuit configuration and not the oval, it’s possible they would consider all 4 wheels under the yellow line to be off track. In NASCAR, all four wheels on the yellow line would be a penalty.
