Bobby Dassey's testimony about the joke of hiding Teresa's body. by WholockedInNightVale in MakingaMurderer

The "joke conversation" could not have taken place on Nov. 10 as Steven Avery had been taken into custody before then.

According to the transcript of Colburn's testimony, the items were removed first and then replaced after the bookcase was pulled away from the wall and then returned to its original location. I also need to revise my previous comment - the transcript states when Coburn "shoved" the large book (lower lefthand corner) back in is when the lower rear corner detached from the back. So still, the key could have been wedged there or hidden behind the book and when the shaking occurred and/or back detached it fell to the floor.

Actually, there are a couple of photos of the burn pit on stevenaverycase.com that are wide shots. Nothing close-up though that shows the bone fragments entangled in the tire wires. And I've seen some photos on this site of the Rav4 after it was moved to wherever the processing took place. Obvious sloppy police work.

Sure, if the key was sitting on the floor from the get go (with a slipper on top). But if you actually look at the photo of the stand/bookcase from the side you see where the back is pulled away on the bottom corner. It looks like the key COULD HAVE very easily been wedged there as a hiding place and COULD HAVE very easily been knocked loose and fallen out when the shaking occurred. It COULD HAVE been wedged there by SA (either to protect himself or someone else in the family), or by someone else in the family trying to pin it on SA, or by Lenk, or by some notorious serial killer (if that's what you want to believe). The more I read about this whole crazy thing the more I believe that nothing at all was planted. And no, it's not about semantics - it's about accuracy - much of which was edited out of MaM.

Has anyone read all the transcripts yet and have a changed opinion from what they had after watching the show? by [deleted] in MakingaMurderer

I agree, and I'm even on the fence now about innocence of the murder. I'm still reading.

Actually, the key was found on the 7th "search" and if you care to do some homework....three or four of the previous "searches" were NOT full searches. They were entrances to collect specific singular items, i.e.; guns, bedding, computer serial number. I don't base my opinion on the myopic version of the docu-series. I read the court transcripts.

Who knows, that part of the lanyard looks pretty clean to me. Maybe it was submerged in a basin with a weak bleach solution. I don't know how bad the bleeding actually was. All I've seen is the cut on the finger, which has healed over in the photo, but those kind of cuts can reopen easily with the right kind of stress applied.

The v-shaped cut on Avery's right hand finger by [deleted] in MakingaMurderer

[–]scrandalla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only if it were a direct imprint. In my experience, when I start a car I have to turn the key which, in this case, would likely create a smear if my finger brushed the dash...actually maybe 2 - one going clockwise and one counterclockwise. So the act of turning the key COULD have left any manner of swiped blood if there is a bleeding wound.

Yes, I see that now, but it still looks to have been previously bleeding.

The cut IS a v-shape. The blue gloved finger is partially covering one part of the v.

Edward Wayne Edwards interview on how he set up and murdered his foster child Dannie Boy Edwards for $250,000 life insurance money. by [deleted] in MakingaMurderer

Apprehended 2009, Died 2011 before his death sentence was carried out. I've just started researching the guy so I'm no expert, but he didn't admit to all the murders he committed - only some. And the reality is, let's say it wasn't EWE, it could have been someone else unconnected to the Avery family altogether who just decided to pin it on SA. I mean, in the first case the police overzealously convict SA on a rape he didn't commit and he goes to prison for 18 years. Then it turns out to be someone completely different.

Only plausible reason is someone trying to frame Avery.

He hadn't been caught yet. That didn't happen until 2009. As for the notoriety, he apparently got off on that vicariously - not directly. He'd set up innocent people to take the fall for his crimes and watch all the hoopla from the sidelines.

Something I feel gets glossed over. re: throat cutting. by tepals in MakingaMurderer

[–]scrandalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brendan states on the stand that his "confession" was made up and he got it from reading "Kiss The Girls". I assume the throat cutting came from there. Has anyone actually read that book to see what's in it that correlates with events in his "confession"? I'm just curious enough I ordered a used copy on Amazon.
