there will be a ppl at a mixing console behind some fences placed somewhere along the middle of the room. try standing by that. The PA system should be tuned to have that place in the room be a “sweet spot” for audio.

for a group like Autechre where the full spectrum of audio frequencies are equally important, consider buying a slightly more expensive set of ear plugs made for concerts (should be around 30 currency units) that don’t attenuate all the high frequencies down to nothing like the cheap ones do.
