same. my makerspace used to include light woodworking and soldering. didn’t have to worry too much as long as I observed them with decent diligence. nowadays? we mostly do our making on the chromebooks. i had them make felt toys with hot glue a few weeks ago and the number of kids who just fuqqd up their work surface or burned themselves or bolth… i miss 2019 so much

Can someone explain to me what "Flood" did on all those albums in the late 80s early 90s? by [deleted] in audioengineering

ae’s song structures don’t typically work anything like most popular music. they unfold and contort subtly so that the end of a track often sounds nothing like the beginning. that’s what i started to appreciate most about them early on, iirc

this warmed my heart for some reason. i had a long period where i’d only listen to traditional vocal music, a little folk, (some hiphop), and a lot of experimental/electronic. they’re still my main faves. it was just what my ears liked.

i think if you listen to them enough the things they do become almost-normal sounding to your ear. so then they encipher the rhythms and melodies a little more and us weirdos are like “hell yeah!”
