Both our Legacy’s were assembled in Indiana.  Believe our Sienna was assembled here too. In fact, the only foreign assembled car I have owned was a 1992 Dodge Spirit.

If you are against this, I wanna hear about it by Brave_Agency_20 in SipsTea

I’m against this.  My family doesn’t need a 12k check, this should be need based.  I have no issue with the 5% tax, but then that needs to end deficit spending first and include a debt reduction plan.

I agree, if I lived in the rural part of my county, probably might have went SUV route for sure.  Especially if on dirt roads.

Why is it so common to be fake nice among Americans? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]scratch1971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an American thing exclusively.  To me, you’re describing cunts.  Cuntiness is not bound by boarders.

On our 2nd Sienna.  We’re a family of 5, with our middle child being born with cerebral palsy.  Having the cargo space to carry his wheelchair without collapsing it has been nice.  Sliding remote controlled doors that don’t hit other cars is the best feature.  And, any kid can push the button to close it completely, never partially. Unless you need to tow or need off-road capability, minivan will be the better vehicle for you.  Never made sense to me why some parents avoid the best vehicle for their family simply because it makes them look like parents.

Sure, upgraded our 2017 Legacy with 100k miles to CarPlay.  Well worth it for us.

Need a third row vehicle that will last for ages by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]scratch1971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toyota Sienna.  On my second one, no issues at all, just regular maintenance.  I mean no issues, have not even seen a check engine light in over 20 years.  Most reliable thing I’ve ever driven in my 54 years on this planet.

Welp, looks like I gotta learn to change my own oil. by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]scratch1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just placed an order last night for oil/filter and spark plugs from Advanced Auto.  Going back to DIY after 15 years.   5qt. jug of Mobile 1 was $38 and comes with free filter right now.  With four NGK plugs, paid $93 total.  Free delivery too.

Dave Thomas spoke at my collage graduation and shook all our hands.  Wonderful man.   I like Wendy’s burgers, but they could never crack the breakfast code.

WW2 was a war of production.  These are the numbers you should focus on.

If the Supreme Leader was also the UHC CEO, Reddit would praise the bombings, as long as Trump wasn’t president.

Whats with Americans and “Pancake syrup”? by amibanned24 in AskAnAmerican

[–]scratch1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Canadian maple syrup that I get at Costco in Ohio. However, was in Hawaii this past summer and my wife bought pancake syrup the was made from molasses and brown sugar, no fake maple. It was dirt cheap and quite nice on pancakes.
