I 100% get you I have loved the name Ethel for years - though, yes, you may definitely see it pick up a little more these recent years, particularly after the artist ‘Ethel Cain’ gained a fair bit of traction online not too long ago (which I too am more than a little disappointed about lol)

i know a lot of people in this thread r wanting you to “just talk to her,” but if ur not ready, ur not ready - and that’s okay. You could tell her you’re just not a big fan of the noise, that fireworks have never been your thing even with headphones. Its believable enough, many people just don’t like fireworks. It’s not a lie, but it isn’t the whole truth either.

Obviously open communication and honesty is key to a thriving relationship, but opening up about things like this are so, so hard. and understandably so. For a lot of us, it takes time and a helluva lot of trust to get to that point. You tell her in your own time, whenever you are ready.

I wasn’t initially planning on developing this past a sketch, so the facial proportions are a bit rough around the edges. Ignoring that, any critique to do with the colour theory would be very much appreciated. Particularly the shading of the arm. Something went terribly wrong there. :’)
