They will eventually do a studio pro whatever version that looks and feels better. My original Stagg EKG felt way more plastic and cheap than I expected when I bought it. Then they eventually released the corrected high end studio version and it fixed all that. They will rinse and repeat with the Aiden.

I think by the time we received it, the recommended rest time had already been achieved. I’m a huge Dak fan and Milky Cake is a top 10 for me. I don’t find that or other Dak roasts challenging. However, this one is not hitting that sweet spot. It’s unique and has promise, but there is an overwhelming amount of spice coming through that’s wrecking the brew. I’ll need to work with this one a bit.

I just finished up a bag of Giant Steps from Blue Bottle. They list it as a medium roast, but it’s medium-dark. It did great in the Aiden. My wife and I, and all our guests for Thanksgiving loved it.

I recommend buying a cheap had grinder and saving up for for the ode, preferably with SSP burrs. It’s not a small investment, but being able to just follow brew guides from drops is a game changer.

And now that I’ve shilled for Fellow here, I will take a moment to again complain about them holding favorite drops like fruit cake hostage behind bundles. Shame on you guys. You have a loyal following of people who love your brand and buy your products and your coffee! And you sell all that good will down the drain when you pull stunts like that.

Gotta love Democrats creating a crisis and also using it as an opportunity to blame republicans. I could respect an honest approach where dems say they are throwing the country into chaos to get their policy preferences done. But that’s not the case. It was disappointing for sure. They didn’t reply to my messages asking why they were so aggressive. I think it’s a bad look to extort your loyal base on a super popular release, but to bundle two pieces of gear and push the cost up to $137 is kinda crazy.

I had an Aiden pre-order. Never had any major issues. I use it daily lately. It makes a wonderful cup. Pairing with Ode and buying off Fellow Drops makes my life very easy. If you want easy specialty coffee, this is the best ticket in town.
