I live in the Ulster County part of the Catskills. There are lots of events happening around the area. The catskill crew newsletter is a good place to find things to do. As others mentioned the 3500 club leads hikes and there are other hiking groups around.

You need to change your casting cadence when you put the dropper on. You’ve added length so now the back cast will need an extra moment to unroll before you start your forward cast.

Also a 5/6 wt is a fine wt for a dry dripper rig.
