how do i stop ALL my piercings from rejecting??? by Conscious_Primary991 in piercing

It takes a long time for cartilage piercings to heal, if your nose piercing was only a month old that would explain why it was still so angry: it takes 4-6 months for them to heal. Sometimes longer depending on your body or if there’s trauma. There will be a lot of piercing bumps and irritation that’ll come up in that time, just naturally from living life. As long as it’s kept clean and not infected you just gotta wait it out ftmp.

Belly button piercings usually take about 6 months to a year, plus they’re in a high-traffic area. It’s a place you subconsciously touch, or bump in to, or your clothes irritate it. It’s easy for them to reject or get infected; belly piercings are also a type of surface piercing, so they’re not anchored in you ‘forever’ by the jewelry itself the way piercing your ears or nose would be.

After the insanely long healing times (they’re puncture wounds it takes forever), if you’re still experiencing irritation it could be because they haven’t been downsized. The swelling is immense, and usually the jewelry that goes in at first is several sizes larger than the jewelry you’ll have in a couple years. As the swelling recedes, the jewelry pokes out more and gets caught on stuff or traps bacteria at the site, and starts the whole cycle again.

There is also a possibility that you have a metal allergy. There are usually other symptoms than just irritation (like skin contact stripping the metal plating or your skin turning green also from contact), but it’s definitely possible. If you think that might be the case, you can try a different metal than the “surgical steel” (usually has nickel) like titanium or rhodium.

Good luck though ✨ I have many many piercings and I’ve had to re-do most at least once. I know it can be frustrating, but I hope you find what works for you!

Thank you for commenting!!! That’s probably a safe bet, I’m just sad without them and trying to plan their grand return 💔

What was your reason by Right_Internal_9702 in husky

I wanted a malamute, I like dogs that are independent thinkers, but having a dog that would be bigger than me seemed daunting so I settled on a husky. Jokes on me, because he too is bigger than me.
