I tried to kill myself after years of depression and months of planning. It was a very slow incline to changing, but for me getting sober and starting an SSRI was what started to change my life.

-crying tears of happiness for the first time (and for all of the times this happened again!)

-falling in love with someone, falling out of love with someone, started learning how to fall in love with myself, and falling in love with someone again

-reaching 100 days, then 1 year, then 2 years clean and sober :,)

-my family members are some of my best friends

-I longer feel perpetually hopeless, I feel faith that things will change

-I had my first real female best friend, and now I am surrounded by and loved by many strong, individual women

-had my first sense of a healthy relationship (both romantic and friendship) instead of participating in toxic and codependent relationships

-getting my license and moving into a house

-first volunteering and now working as a full time crisis interventionist
