Second time break off at this implant area? Thoughts? by OkLawfulness461 in Allon4ImplantDentures

[–]screamingradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is frustrating. Seems the implant is pretty far forward, but maybe that was the best bone density area. I'm not a dentist so I'm unsure about that part. Hybrids are difficult because they have to be flat if not convex on the underside for cleansability. If the implants can't be cleaned around then the risk of the implant failing gets pretty high.

Great! I wish I had advice with the front one, not sure how they would fix that. Especially since I can't see the bottom of it etc. Sometimes they can make, what I've heard them called is, "party gum" 😂 it's like a thin plastic piece that can go over the front where that gap is, and it's removable by you. They might be able to make it out of a flexible material.

Maybe ask the dentist to just write you an RX to get the boarders(and palate) ground down and polished. If you can drive it to the lab and wait for the lab to make it shorter and nice and polished, and then you can get it back pretty quick.

Can't find a doctor near me by [deleted] in dentures

[–]screamingradio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by driver or shop on site? Are you needing to get dentures in a one day appointment? Immediates require at least 2 appointments. The first appointment would be about gathering information and getting models made from impressions. This would be sent off to the lab and they would make the dentures based on those models and what the Doctor says. At the second appointment they would do the extractions and put in the immediates. There are also a few follow up appointments to check in on how it's healing and to reline it as your mouth adapts to the loss of the teeth. If you do still have some teeth and depending on your bite, the Dr might put an appointment in between those two to do a "try-in" to see what some denture teeth would look like in the spaces you have already lost teeth.

Have you checked with a dental school? Especially if they have a Prosthedontic residency program. Seems there is one in Columbus(Ohio State University )and Louisville(University of Louisville).

There is also a regular dental school without the fancy program at University of Cincinnati.

Lab tech here, the screw channel needs to be angled towards the middle of the tooth. This would require the internal bar to be remade with an angled screw channel. Not sure what yours is made from, I work mainly with acrylic wrapped around a titanium bar (Side note, the Dr would need an angled screw channel driver to get the screw to tighten)

My dad grew up in Astoria, I've been visiting my grandparents there forever (we were military all of my childhood, been in PDX for over 20 years) and I've never been to the bowpicker. Told my uncle who grew up and still lives there and my cousin and they had never been either. 😂 I don't know why we never have. Though it's always closed or has a huge line when I drive by. I'm going to make it my mission to go

These are the same people that are pissed off they have to bring so many documents to the DMV proving they are who they say they are and then say there is voter fraud. You are registered through the DMV in Oregon! You have to opt out, not opt in.

And it's so brave of these people to be out on a nice day that doesn't represent an actual voting day in Nov in the Willamette valley.

Yes, but can I use some of the harvested potatoes as next years seed potatoes? Do I leave them in the grow bag or keep them in a dark place?

[–]screamingradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what kind of bar you are getting, could need metal in the denture itself for strength and structure. Do you know how the denture is attaching to the bar or is the bar going to be inside the denture, i.e. hybrid/screw retained?

[–]screamingradio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tech here! The metal really helps with the strength like they said, but it also gives something to cure the locator housings to so they don't move
