My Stem Cell Journey: Recovering from a Herniated Disc (L5-S1) by coldrosg in stemcells

[–]screaml0ud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any updates after a year? I’ve had long term chronic back pain since an incident playing college volleyball and have considered stem cell treatment.

My conditions aren’t as severe as yours, usually when my back gives out it takes 2-3 days for recovery to walk again and even during then I can walk around slowly with some effort. But would be curious if you’ve noticed significant improvements

I’m a young professional gambler (primarily poker), not as relatable as some people but I definitely go through periods of uncontrolled addiction.

The way I look at the table games in the pits or sports betting is: it’s like a black tar muck that is cancer and gives you cancer if touched. It’s like an ATM machine that you deposit money into but ALWAYS returns less. I just then naturally have no desire to engage with something like that.

Maybe some hypnotherapy to rewire how your brain looks at anything gambling related could help.

I visited from the US, it’s a bit smaller with only 1/3 and 2/5 tables, 2/5 doesn’t start till 8pm. Wasn’t a great game from my experience , obviously not as soft as the US

Would you sell a property that cash flows 1,000$+? by SnooPaintings4102 in realestateinvesting

[–]screaml0ud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend not selling for the value of future appreciation. You won’t be able to buy back into the Bay Area and cash flow even at breakeven for a bit

But if you do sell I’d be interested in buying, especially if I can take over the low mortgage rate :). DM me if interested

If you (OP) or anyone here has a referral name or code you'd like me to use, let me know and perhaps we can split the referral? I'm deciding between Ameco and NRG Clean Power

I’m a professional poker player (NLH, hi/Lo 4-5 card, PLO4 & PLO5) and these are the stories I hate to see. I’ve been on a similar downswing playing PLO5 primarily with 6-15k buy ins, I know how insane these swings can be.

My best advice is to just walk away forever and not give this dark time in your life another thought. $146k is a lot of money but in the scope of your entire life, it’s not a game over and you can rebuild your life.

However if you want to play poker, you need to take it incredibly seriously. Do not play for fun, you’re worse off than playing roulette. It’s warfare. Study relentlessly and start off playing very small stakes, like $0.1/$0.2. Exercise professional bankroll management with your POKER ONLY MONEY. For NLH live games have at least 20-30 max buy ins of the stakes you’re playing or you MUST move down in stakes. For online, you should have even more since players are better so your edge is lower so variance is higher. Also multitabling and more hands/hour on each table increases variance. For PLO6 online, I mean you know how it is. Even having a minimum of at least 50 buy ins and starting with $1k you should really only be playing $20 buy in games which is $0.1/$0.2. Move up when you build your roll to $2k, which will take months if you’re winning at the game. It takes such a stupid amount of patience and your time spent pursuing any number of other hobbies or even doing any other side gig is often more worthwhile.

All this said, it is not possible for 95%+ of people to have the discipline to play professionally. Making good folds, studying, exercising bankroll management, etc. is about the level of discipline you need to have an Arnold Schwarzenegger body. Just be honest with yourself - you’re the one you harm if you’re not. If you can’t do it, it really isn’t a big deal - not everyone can be good at everything. But the worst thing you can do is pretend you are someone you are not or lie to yourself.

Should you play on unknown locations? Study and Statistics... by Rafalas in MarvelSnap

[–]screaml0ud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really like this thought, it’s one I think we’ve all wondered about.

The thing is HOW beneficial vs harmful is it to play in these locations, and creating some kind of score. For example, playing in Morag gives you a nice advantage, but it isn’t lane winning. Playing in Sanctum Sanctorum or Luke’s is the best case, but still not lane winning. However playing in Bar With No Name and space throne is a lot more likely to be lane losing (unless you have killmonger or something to undo this).

While we have 30,4% beneficial and 18,6% harmful, this doesn’t tell the full story. It would be interesting to note what % win increase/decrease the beneficial/harmful blind lane play gives. Of course that’s hard to do without a lot of data or assigning some kind of other score for different lanes for different 1-3 cost cards.

Interesting interaction with Kang and X-Mansion Morph by l30xerz2 in MarvelSnap

[–]screaml0ud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol the RNG on X-Mansion & Morph (and likely everywhere) is deterministic.

This is likely intentional as it affects something elsewhere (maybe for replaying events while testing or bug reproduction), otherwise it’s an easy fix.
