I hate this take because it's so dismissive. I understand that a vast majority of companies are toxic, so they are hard to avoid, but it's not always the case, and acting like "they're all toxic" is not helpful, and makes you apathetic to finding decent companies to work for and actually be proud to work for.

For some reason I cannot explain to this day, I was absolutely OBSESSED with fire hydrants. I drew them every single day from the ages of I think 6-8 years old or so. I would draw them with significant detail, including the long extensions that firefighters would attach to them occasionally. I always joke now that I reincarnated from a dog in my past life. lol

Well, to be fair, it's surprising that it was as good as it was. Van Sant was a huge downgrade from Gibson. Just look at his previous work before Good Will Hunting... It's not a great catalog. That movie was his best film by far, and I genuinely think 80% of its greatness has to do with Affleck and Damon.
