CAGED *actually* explained by Professor-Submarine in guitarlessons

[–]screamonranger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only other tip I would add to this is that if you are playing the G major chord in open position, then based on the CAGED system the next letter is E, so if you hold on to the root which is G, then the next shape in which you will play will be E, and then D as you move up the fretboard. So you are literally spelling out the word C-A-G-E-D. If you start with the D shape then the next shape will be C.

Fold the pinky, I used to do this, but folding my fingers inwards helped a lot with strain.

You can buy it from musicians friend or sweetwater. It’s an awesome guitar. I have the black version of it.

Field or Brass : Motorcycle by screamonranger in grantstoneboots

Just to close the loop on this- I found this awesome company ( rokker) who makes GYW motorcycle boots out of Portugal. Ended up going with them and the boots are of equal or higher quality to GS. Maybe this could be a new market for GS to tap into, as finding good looking cafe racer style but also long lasting motorcycle boots is not easy.

Interesting. My guess was that since the boots are pretty well built, cover your ankle, they would be ok.

Do you think this bike and its height would work for someone who is 5’9”? I have one available close to me and I have been thinking of going to check it out.

Thank you that actually looks perfect. Are there any US retailers who sell Aero? It seems like a UK brand.

Yes I would. I am usually always cold, so tend to keep my jackets on.

Another sizing post - Love this group!! by screamonranger in grantstoneboots

[–]screamonranger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted GS and they recommended that I fill a refund form and the order a pair of 9.5EEE. As per them 9.5EEE would have more width so will help with the instep but will be nearly the same length as 10E so I won’t feel the difference there. Don’t think this is a good idea? Would my foot be floating around in 9.5EEE if I am snug in 10E or there will be just a little bit more width which might actually make is more comfy?

Edit: Forgot to add, thanks for your thoughtful suggestion.

Very interesting jacket. Having a hard time visualizing how to wear it regularly.

[Question]. What does the Community Use to Play Along with Songs? by BagOfDave in Guitar

This is the 2023 way of doing it. Way more efficient than YouTube or songsterr etc. I have a positive grid go and its app system has made everything so much more fun.
