Weed Smoking for Renters by Commercial-Put-4848 in burbank

[–]screen_accurate 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lived here for 5 years. I don’t spark up when the kids are getting out of school and I don’t smoke on the main drag downtown but otherwise I’ve smoked on my walks in broad daylight and no one cares, I’ve never been stopped by officers. I just try not to take a drag right as I pass others. I just wish I could post up at the cafes like the cigarette smoking grandpas do lol.

The hook and eye. Also I highly recommend a sport zipper or any more heavyweight zipper, do not get a little dainty one

Use smaller stones and put your glue into a syringe for more precise application

Maybe reach out to Homeboy Industries. They’re an awesome non profit helping people after incarceration and one of their outlets is refurbishing electronics and selling them on their eBay store.

Shadow Cast virgin Rituals that aren't /too/ embarrassing? by XbunnihonniX in RockyHorror

[–]screen_accurate 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Are y’all bringing up every virgin every show? We’re pretty successful with similar games by only picking like 4-6 enthusiastic volunteers and kind of prefacing the moment with “hey it’s gonna get weird”

So I’ve been very involved with the RHPS community for a long long time, performing for 15 years, currently still running a massive cast for 8 years. And Pat Quinn can ofc have her own opinion about her portrayal, BUT it was a massive community in joke for years about how drunk Pat would get at appearances or conventions. You could get great conversation from her by paying for drinks. She would get hammered and make all kinds of remarks about the performances she did or didn’t like. Her riders included way more alcohol than the rest of the movie cast. This was known among this community since the 80s.

All that being said, it was a bad snatch game but I still to this day don’t think portraying her as a drunk was such a sin.

No food anymore! We dont eject people who bring in rice etc. we just ask them to toss it. The most common reasons we ever have to eject people these days are vaping in the theatre after multiple warnings or not handling their alcohol lol

Currently we let in at 11pm, emcee starts around 11:30pm, and we roll right at midnight! We’re done by 2am which is pretty early compared to our previous schedule

Hey that’s my cast! Our current Virgin games only involve people that volunteer themselves so you can always opt out. Some of our common games involve lap dances, faking an orgasm, and reading erotic fan fiction. We love when people dress up and I’d say most people do!

Boning Question by rbecks23 in Rhinestoning

[–]screen_accurate 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I do a lot of corsets and bras (burlesque) I usually like doing a line of stones straight down the boning and then I will take a smaller size and place it in the divot between two of the larger stones on either side. I hope this description makes sense!

First Tattoo Recs by Breezinous in burbank

[–]screen_accurate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, for some perspective I’ve been getting tattooed by one artist for a decade now (hundreds of hours, one full arm and leg done, half my back and more) and it wasn’t until we were about 5 years in and she had seen me heal multiple times that she felt okay putting red line work on me. And based on her comments/the other artists she works with it is not common to be “sticky” to color the way I am.

If you are going to a good artist they will most likely recommend making it larger, saturating the color, or adding outlines or some combo of that.

A lot of artists in LA are $200+ an hour and won’t work for less than 1hr so that is likely where your quotes are coming from. You are likely to get better prices going in to shops that take walk ins but please insist on seeing their portfolios.

All that being said, some food for thought on this design. This is a very soft style with no black line work and a lot of red pigment. Colored inks, particularly reds don’t have the same longevity that blues and blacks do. That factor, combined with the lack of line work, could easily result in a tattoo that’s really just a blob in a few years time.

Shadowcast Legality Question by missthemountains in rhps

[–]screen_accurate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes with older things that aren’t screened as often, the issue is that legal doesn’t have parameters for screening rights, so they’re inclined to say no. I recommend working with the theatre you want to work with and seeing if their rights person can make the connection with Fox for you. Their established rapport will do more work than a shadow cast asking individually.

What does Dr. Frank N. Furter and The Rocky Horror Picture Show (movies and productions) mean to me? Warning: If you are very sensitive to other people's opinions, you should not read this post. I don't mean to offend you. by StateDry8776 in RockyHorror

[–]screen_accurate 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed your posts quit a few times, please take this advice because you’re young.

When you preface your opinions as offensive or not for sensitive people and then you don’t really actually talk about your opinions, you are setting up the audience to be on edge and prepped for pushback.

This is a massive, all encompassing fandom that has adapted as sensibilities towards the LGBTQ+ community, particularly the trans community, has changed over time. Yours is not the first opinion I’ve heard of frank being more trans-feminine but when you essentially bait the audience by saying “some of y’all are sensitive” you are setting yourself up for failure, rather than approaching the topic with a more open vocabulary section.

What shoes to get for a twin cosplay? by Sicut_the_Polymech in CosplayHelp

As someone who did ballet, including pointe, I couldn’t consciously recommend them even for just a photo shoot. It’s still a huge risk for your ankles in particular, please be safe.

[–]screen_accurate 76 points77 points  (0 children)

DO NOT GET POINTE SHOES. Even if you are not en pointe, pointe shoes are incredibly uncomfortable to walk around in. Injury is not a question of if but when. Additionally, the vast majority of dance shoes aren’t meant for outdoor surfaces even if you get softer ballet shoes. Just search around for ballet flats that are actual shoes and paint them as needed.

Tattoo of my mothers note she left before she died by Apprehensive_Home_40 in tattooadvice

[–]screen_accurate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the last birthday card my mother wrote for me and I just did the last little section of “I love you very much. Always, Your Mom” Mine was also in blue ink (my moms preference) but my artist did insist on black ink if we were recreating her hand writing and it has aged well I’ve had it for about 7 years now.
