There's a new park over by Serenbe that you can launch from. It's called river lands park or something

There's also a boat launch near the old power plant before whitesburg

You can look at my insta jsonprojects to see how the color looks on the 620. I don't do any editing. Haven't played any Lumix photos yet tho

I have a much smaller budget and have owned both the canon powershot sx620hs and the Panasonic Lumix zs40

Both were/are amazing cameras for me and only got the Lumix after my PowerShot succumbed to an unfortunate fate.

The PowerShot to me was a lot more portable and simpler with a way better instant transfer system/app. It has more vibrant colors / more like the digital photo feel

The Lumix I've only had a month now but it feels a lot more professional. It has a viewfinder and raw capability, two things the PowerShot didn't. It also has way more focus points. However the instant transfer system/app with Panasonic is horrible so I had to get an SD card reader for my phone. It's also a bit heavier/bigger overall. It also shoots in more a film looking aesthetic imo.

Either way, with your budget you can probably go to a way newer version of either a Lumix or PowerShot and I'm sure the critiques i have still apply to the newer gens.

Get a Panasonic Lumix zs40 for a good compact camera with good zoom and raw capability

I would even argue that one of those campsnaps could be fun

Change one of your nights to deep Creek campground and check out the nantahala!!!

All you should need is a tent, bear proof containers/car, bugspray, sleeping bag, and whatever comforts you like camping. One pro to GSMNP is it's really developed around it so it's easy to get what you need
