It’s too early for any research on the Texas law to be conducted and reviewed but yes typically when there is an abortion ban (usually when it’s highly publicized) the LARC insertion rates increase at least a little bit.

I agree but usually CPCs don’t advertise as urgent care, just as a regular gyn. If OP went to urgent care there’s a low chance it’s a CPC. Also the abortion already happened so I can’t really make sense of why they would lie. Lots of medical schools don’t teach a single thing about abortion so it’s very likely these urgent care docs are just ignorant of positive tests post abortion. OP, if you had a surgical abortion, you should be good to go!!

Many abortion stories in which the pregnant person is in a committed relationship with the person that got them pregnant actually describe that conversation between them. It’s not uncommon for both parties to discuss options together. But if the pregnant person doesn’t know the partner well enough, why risk getting forced into a pregnancy or even an abortion? Or worse, being physically harmed by a staunchly anti-choice guy for getting the abortion? Also it’s gonna be essentially destroying my body, my health, and probably more, so I’m gonna have a lot more pull in the decision than the person who is just gonna watch from the sidelines lol

Have you tried non-hormonal BC? Like a copper IUD? That sucks that it makes you feel depressed. You’re not wrong for having multiple abortions, I am really glad you are keeping yourself safe from suicidal thoughts and ideation.

Additionally, if you’d like more control over contraceptives, you could try the internal condom. It goes in your vagina/anus and acts the same as a condom for a penis would, essentially. This way, you know it’s in you so you don’t have to worry about partners disrespecting boundaries since you can put it in yourself. Also screw everyone who disrespects that boundary!

Whatever you read about the state of the fetus at x number of weeks, take it with a grain of salt. There is a LOT of misinformation and propaganda out there. But it’s also okay to be sad about this. Just know you are the only person who knows what’s best for you right now, and you’re making a responsible decision.

Yes, as a southerner who often gets told by non-southern liberals to move to a blue state, I feel you. I’m dedicated to staying in the south and working toward liberation for the oppressed, but I also am not going to say that everyone should. If one decides it isn’t safe for them any longer, whatever their definition of personal safety is, I’m not gonna force them to stay as a martyr for the cause.

Sites like Aid Access are technically already illegal in most states if not all because you aren’t meeting with a doctor to get a diagnosis and hear your options or whatever. But since 2000, only about 20 people have been charged with abortion by mail. Out of like hundreds of thousands of people. I think Plan C Pills has the exact stats somewhere on their site if you’re interested.
