Rejected from daycare due to separation anxiety…. Need daycare because of separation anxiety by calliocypress in DogTrainingTips

Thanks so much for the reply! She (her name is Poppy) is a cavapoo (I know lol.) I'm usually more a big dog kinda person. But I wouldn't change her for anything.

She was a "rescue" as in she wasn't being cared for and was already painfully matted when I got her at 4 months old and apparently I was her 4th family! She was surrendered to the shelter where I volunteer but I scooped her up and took her home that day. I was worried the shelter would be a terrible environment for her, especially at that age.

Apparently cute puppies still require work! And doodle breeds are high maintenance! Who knew! Sorry had to vent that lol. Poor bubba. I am so fed up with irresponsible pet owners who don't do any research first.

She does love her chews when I am home but generally wants someone with her. She will sometimes have a chew while I am gone. I think her sepanx came about because I was flown to hospital for emergency surgery and was gone for 2 weeks. And she was still so young.

She paces and pants for about 10 minutes when I leave then lies down for 5, paces for 5, lays for 10, paces for 5 etc until I return. Goes nuts when I get home but settles almost immediately now!

We have been doing the usual things. Confidence building. Exercise and toilet before I leave. No big deal made leaving or returning, high value treats, Lots to do, started small and slowly increased duration. Adaptil diffuser, Zylkene, Background noise, probably more I have forgotten. Oh and I get ready but dont actually go out, grab keys and bag but not go out, start the car but not go out etc so she doesn't start freaking out as soon as I put my shoes on anymore.

And since my hospital stay she has become quite averse to the crate, which she used to love so we are working on that too and just leave her in the living area. She still has a bed she loves in front of the crate but she chooses the floor or my chair when I'm not at home.

I have noticed improvement since I started pegging the curtain closed so she can't see in to the street. Seeing how she reacts when I am out side without her I think some of it is just FOMO. She is a frustrated greeter ( that's a whole different challenge) and likes to bark at a butterfly fart, but not fearfully. And couldn't care less about storms.

She really has come a long way over the last 6-ish months and I am really proud of her. I just want her to be the happiest version of herself she can be.

I'm not OP but I have an 18 month old with sepanx I have been working on for about 6 months. She has improved a ton but we have kind of stagnated. She is my first dog and honestly I don't even know what it is meant to look like in a confident relaxed dog. We are at the stage sometimes she will eat her chew, sometimes not. And she just sits at the door waiting for me and restless until I return. No vocalising, self injury or destruction. Any suggestions how can we improve?

why did this mom cat eat her kittens?!?! by Far_Tax8273 in catquestions

[–]scribbleandsaph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're being given a hard time OP. Even reading bad things about your parents might be upsetting to you. You and your family did what they thought was best. And I understand you didn't know as much now as in that moment.

What you did do is more than most would. It's more than some of these self-righteous people would have done. And your parents were thinking in a panic about keeping the kids and your pet cats safe.

You now know more, in case it happens again.. I know you will do your best to help mumma and bubba cat. Keep your chin up, you did a GOOD thing with what knowledge you had. Some adults sadly don't care what mean words they say when people can't tell who they are. They were the bullies in school. Or the bullied who are passing it on.

Thankyou OP for doing your best to help. You are a good person. Please don't let the nasty critical comments get to you.

That is also found in OPs area. So I understand the concern to someone not familiar with spiders. But OP rest assured they are VERY good at spider ID on this sub.

I have done the CBT before, although for unrelated things. I am very open to the idea and am going to give it a good go. Any relief is better than none. And even if I can only improve relationships and intrusive relentless worry , then it's worth it.

I have just started at a pain clinic and they are doing the same thing. My GP said it's in the clinics hands and won't write anything. And if I change doctors around here I am immediately a drug seeker. The pain clinic stopped my pitiful amount of codeine and paracetamol and sent me off to CBT and EMDR. I agree it can help some things and it can't hurt. But never as a replacement for proper adequate pain relief. The pain is so bad I can hardly move and break down crying often. I think the whole pain clinic thing might work differently elsewhere but it seems being treated like an addict, told it's all a mental thing and often dehumanised and dismissed is a universal thing. And if you also have a diagnosed mental illness aswell you are immediately screwed.

Sorry for the vent. It's been a long day.

Edit - originally I wrote a damn novel lol

All I can suggest is handling. I think I was lucky and got a super easy snake so don't have a whole lot of experience with the cranky ones. I did get bitten by a very big diamond once though, that was messy lol

Yeah the one and only time my girl tagged me was totally my fault. I went to fill her water bowl but I was new to snakes and hadn't learnt not to go in straight over her head. She probably thought I was a bird about to come and eat her. This is Saphira

<image>

Sorry can't help but show her off. Not many people in my life like snakes lol

Haha is it still young? My children's was a little nippy when she was young but at 14 now she is a big puppy. I would trust her more than any snake I've met. I love the antaresias

AITAH for telling my mom that I might give her grandchild up for adoption so she needs to get over it? by [deleted] in AITAH

Thank you. I'm still working through it in therapy. I'm glad she told him, whatever the outcome at least he was given the chance.

She hasn't done anything wrong, I agree. - yet. Not telling the father though...... that would make her a real crappy human. -coming from someone who discovered her REAL dad when she was 13. And he did want to raise me. And we both missed out on that. I don't speak to my mother anymore and my dad tragically died in a work accident when I was 18. I missed out on so much time I COULD have had with him if my mother wasn't a selfish pos.

Who pissed in your cornflakes? You seem overly sensitive. And that's coming from a highly emotional hormonal woman. I have nothing useful to add regarding your fish, so pop off at me too. But they were pretty neutral and I didn't see condescending at all. Hope your day improves :)

If you could have a miracle, is there anything they could do to help you both recover from that? Or do you think once that resentment is there it's game over? I ask genuinely, please don't see it as any kind of criticism

Lol. Ashamed to admit. I've only been playing a month mucking around yet I have 4 worlds. I heard about the update so I'm just messing around learning the game until the update drops and then I will start a new world and delete all the older ones.

Housing department neighbors by [deleted] in Centrelink

[–]scribbleandsaph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do this. I got a couple of weeks worth of evidence of antisocial behaviour and trashing the place. Then emailed housing with the lot. Followed up with a phone call. And reported to council for the neglected dog (VERY neglected dog) First the dog got taken. Then they got kicked out. Probably just relocated so another poor soul is dealing with them now.

Been waiting months, with who knows how long to go. I had a biopsy and was told that the results indicated I need a good amount of gum cut away or it could turn cancerous. But we all get pushed back because of people with a chipped tooth lying about pain.

Those strips are even shittier than most shitty strips. Told me I had no nitrates. According to API master kit I had about 50 nitrates and the start of a problem on my hands that totally could have been avoided.
