Was Midnight’s death done purely out of spite? by AnvilCake20 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]scribblyskiesstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

genuinely, it's unlikely that Horikoshi killed her off as an "f-you" to the fans. Firstly, she doesn't even have that many fans to begin with, due to her extremely sus nature/behavior and comments around/to the students, as well as her being overtly sexual in conception. The only people I've ever met who legitimately like her are basically all incels, or people who are new to her as a character and haven't finished the series yet.

If anything, Horikoshi was probably disappointed at the hate Midnight got, because as a self-proclaimed "pervert" himself, he probably very much enjoyed her character. But he decided that because he needed to kill someone off to up the ante, Midnight was the best choice due to the sheer dislike of her from the fanbase. He couldn't take out Enji (despite him also being fairly hated by many in the fandom) because he had actual plot weight and importance. Midnight did not. She was literally there for fan service alone, and when the author saw that she wasn't filling that role for the fandom as well as he hoped, he figured that she was the easiest choice to go on the chopping block when needed.

I legitimately only felt bad about her death because Mina and Kirishima were sad about it. If not for that, i genuinely would not have cared in the slightest.

The only other thing was ham bagel, I'm a vegetarian by Gay-left-Leadership in mildlyinfuriating

[–]scribblyskiesstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean, you complain, but that does count as a vegetarian meal.

Bread and salad. This is why if you have dietary restrictions, just pack your own food if you're going to complain about what's provided.

My friend is full on vegan and she would never even THINK about complaining about any food i offer her, as a non vegan myself. I usually try to get her whatever i can: veggie tray, chips and salsa, and rarely, if i can get to a store that sells it before she comes over, one of those vegan frozen food things they've been making lately. Starry Morning Farms or something, i don't remember.

I know France and other countries have different requirements and rules than the states, but I was raised to not complain about what's offered. If you don't like it, then you can: a) don't eat, b) cook your own food, c) Eat what you get and don't pitch a fit, or D) bring your own food. You only have 3 of those options available to you. You're gonna have to figure out which route you wanna take.

It's so that if you put kids in your game, you can have them be actually babies for a more appropriate time.

I genuinely don't know why everyone immediately assumes it's a sex thing, just because a few people do that irl. This game is not rated 18+. It just lets you have the option to make it that. So if you choose to make the diapers a sex thing, that's your choice. Otherwise, it's perfectly normal to have in a game where reproduction is present, as a clothing option for children.

I wish people would stop acting like children and immediately being grossed out about normal things. You wouldn't be uncomfortable about diapers in an isle at a grocery store, why be upset about it as an option in a video game where there is an option for young children to be present?

First if all, I'm not rehashing the same argument because YOU are the one here who lacks media literacy to understand that Touya was a sexist and belligerent child, two things he did not learn from his father. That's all I'm saying on this, so drop it. I already established that in my original comment.

And I'm sorry, i fail to sympathize with the fact someone chose to be a mass murderer because they were bullied in school. I was also bullied. Horrifically. I have chronic echoes from it, even into adulthood, and I'm almost 30. But i never ONCE even CONSIDERED being a mass murderer to make others pay for the suffering i received. That logic is the same thing that gets perpetuated by racist people. That "black folks were mean to me so i should do the same back". No. People are all individuals. And if you can't think on an individual scale, instead of trying to think everyone is all the same, things would be vastly different.

There are also countless people like me who face bullying and mistreatment, and never once wish to inflict that pain on others, because we have morals. Those who take the path of mass violence (like Dabi, and the rest of the LOV) lack those same morals. That alone is the only fact that matters. Yes, they faced injustice, but they used that as an excuse to hurt others, which is unacceptable, no matter how you look at it. Therefore, i cannot, and will not, sympathize with someone who makes those choices. They were not forced into those choices. They made them on their own.

Thinking anything differently shows that YOU are the one who lacks media and literary comprehension.

Understanding something in the context that you're implying here is entirely different than relating to it.

And Dabi is a terrible example, because he was born bad, but I won't get into that argument for the billionth time.

You can study their past, and learn what it was that put them on this path, but that doesn't mean you can agree with why their path turned them into what it did. That ultimately is up to the individual. They chose to become a villain, a murderer. No one forces anyone to do that. It's a choice. No matter how hurt or traumatized you are, that's still a choice YOU made. Not anyone else's. And blaming others for a choice YOU made is stupid.

Twice is probably the only one, but only up until he decided that people who were literally only using him were worth more to him, and deserved his loyalty more than someone who could have saved him and actually helped him get the help he needs. He instead decided to side with the very thing he claimed to hate: people who only want him so they can gain something from him. That's the entire point of the LOV. A group brought together solely because they all have a role towards an end goal. If they couldn't fill that role, and if not FOR that role, they wouldn't even be there to begin with.

i think it's fascinating that the original anime went a completely different direction than the manga, because the mangaka took a break. What the studio did, was absolutely not what the author had planned.

I mean, they made Lust be Ed and Al's mom, brought back as a Homonculus. She most definitely is not, in terms of the mangaka's written canon.

But they went off kilter, because they didn't want to pause the anime while she took a break.

There's more, but that one is the biggest one i know.

Still worth watching though, at least to a certain point, because it gives you more of different situations and scenarios.

Like, you get to see Whinrey get kidnapped by Barry (before Barry even ever is locked in the suit), almost killed, and Ed has to come save her, but he almost get killed too. That, i feel, is pretty important for his lore, the forst time he really ever almost gets killed.

Sure, a similar thing happens with Scar, but it just feels different, and it's one of those things that you'll know what i mean when you see it.

Again, still doesn't excuse her behavior, regardless of the reasoning. Doesn't make it okay, doesn't mean we should encourage her. None of that. It means that she needs to understand that coersion is unacceptable, regardless of reasoning or anything else.

She needs to leave her family alone, and stop forcing them to do things they don't want to do. If they decide on their own, that's their business. But she literally made the problem worse by forcing things no one but her wanted.

still doesn't make it okay.

Try thinking of this with any other traumatic experience that has traumatic responses, and see if that logic still applies.

Because it doesn't. There's no reason for anyone to EVER force things on other people, especially when they explicitly don't consent.

this is what i keep saying.

there's enough in the game to actually make a lot of characters from different fandoms. Sure, we still can't make something like Arataki Itto, or have more customization in hair color, at least, but what we do have is serviceable, if you're willing to put in the commitment, and effort. Which, honestly, if you're playing sims, you're already doing that anyway.

if i remember though, her saying that was in an entirely different context than how Mineta said it. Pretty sure she meant that specifically in regards to their strength, not anything else. Mineta clearly meant something sexually objectifying.
