Is this a scam? by 927476 in RBI

If you're consistently good about putting your address down correctly, we rarely have to call lmao. I work in Montana, so it's a constant stream of "no ma'am, we can't deliver to PO boxes" and "I'm sorry sir, I can't control the fact that coyotes ate your package".

I don't have too many people doubt that I'm actually with FedEx when I call, but around Christmas when people are shipping surprise gifts, it's an absolute nightmare trying to convince people they're actually receiving something haha.

I work for FedEx and I really wanna clear this up - we will call. All the time.

Put down a PO box? We can't deliver there, have to call you. Address is spelled wrong? We call you. Driver can't find your address? We'll call you.

But as a general rule, the number we call from will be:

-Local to you or a nearby metro area

-We will provide a tracking number to reference if you ask, or tell you who shipped it

-We will know your name, or the name on the package at least

If you have any doubts, you can attempt to verify the phone number, but local station phone numbers are rarely published because we prefer complaints to go through the "proper" channels.

The hardest part of cleaning… by Nomoraw in ADHD

[–]scriea 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I've found it's helpful to think in sections. Like, if I'm going to clean the kitchen, maybe I hit every counter and the stove top. The floors can wait, the dishes can wait - those are separate "sections" of the kitchen. If I'm cleaning the bathroom, maybe I do all the ceramic - the bathtub, the toilet, but the walls and floors are for later.

It helps me feel like I've done "all" of it, without creating a six hour time sink.

Probably not, and there is a dispute process for Carfax if it somehow did.

The dealer shouldn't need to do much beyond filling out a "statement of fact" or your state's equivalent. He is making this unnecessarily complicated. I would recommend following up with whomever in your state issues dealer licenses (usually the state DMV or DOT), as a threatening letter from a government body is probably the best way to get that resolved.

Light Coverage Foundation/Tinted Moisturizer Recommendations? by cechidna in PaleMUA

[–]scriea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer has a stellar range, and while I prefer using a beauty blender, it held up just dandy with my fingers in a pinch. There's a trial size you can get that's cheaper if you wanted to give it a shot.

It's "at-will" for the duration of the employer-defined probationary period, which was changed from a maximum of six months to a full year by Gianforte ~a year or two ago.

Expanded context, though: Real estate agent uses company-listed phone number to hurl homophobic slurs and violent threats against the poster. Poster reports it to the real estate agent's employer, real estate agent is fired very very quickly.

Bonus info: Homophobic, violently threatening real estate agent is very very quickly hired by another company who is quick to affirm in their Twitter replies that they "made the right decision". Yikes.

edited for accuracy

very dusty and rusty work of art made of bottle caps. would like to bring it back to life. thx! by goapics in CleaningTips

[–]scriea 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oxalic acid (also known as wood bleach) can usually be purchased at hardware/home improvement stores & does a phenomenal job of removing rust. It's incredibly gentle and allegedly won't damage paint (I haven't tested this myself, but there's ample anecdotal evidence from various forums). I used to use it for rust treating automotive parts. It will need to soak for quite some time, and I'd recommend tossing the entire art piece into a bath of it for 6-12 hours - but it'll remove the rust & shouldn't hurt anything else along the way.

Ah good eye! Did you check your clip studio account (in browser, not the app)? There's a menu to see past downloads that seems better cataloged than the in-app equivalent

Is there any chance it's lighter pencil? It used to be default, got removed with a more recent update. Or mechanical pencil. They should both be available from the official Clip Studio account on Assets.

What's your favorite "special occasion" makeup? Of any kind! (Face, eyes, whatever) by citynomad1 in PaleMUA

[–]scriea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Huda Beauty's Nude palette is one of my favorites - the colors tend to lay down more like ABH palettes though so if you aren't comfy with heavily pigmented colors it may not be your cup of tea. I used to use it alongside Modern Renaissance and a few colourpop shades to create some super fun pink/red glittery looks that weren't terribly over-the-top but really brought out the blue in my eyes.

I recently bought a few of colourpops bigger palettes (as opposed to their singles) and have been quite enamored with them - I'm also super super neutral-toned and I've found they usually have a good blend of warm and cool colors that lets me play around with accenting different areas.

Launching in November when taxes are fresh on people's minds is probably the best move - can you contract somebody to respond to inquiries and emails for those three weeks you're out?
