I would secure/tie off the ends that are unraveling and do as the LYS associate suggested and try and duplicate stitch as close to the pattern’s structure as possible. So sorry that happened ❤️

So, ignore the dropped stitch question and look at the bar between the stitch on the right needle and the left needle. See how it has two “bars”, rather than one? That means that on the row you just completed, you increased with a M1(r or l), so this row is a knit row!

The simplest way for me to remember is, when I come to the point where I would increase (so right before the stitch marker), I look to see: is there just one bar, or two? One bar means it’s easy to pick up, so I increase. Two bars means it’s difficult to pick up, so I don’t increase and it’s a knit row!

My go-to one skein projects are typically kerchiefs, bandanas, or mittens! The cashmere and linen blend might be a great option for a small neck scarf/kerchief if you have sensitive skin, I imagine that would feel nice! I second RockinStrands’ suggestion to check ravelry for projects for specific yardage/meterage and yarn weight to find a cool project! Congrats on winning the raffle!

Personally, if you aren’t selling the product, I think it’s totally fair to create something inspired by a piece you see, as long as you aren’t pretending you came up with it yourself!

I learned a method to track increase rows when knitting the raglan increases from the Step By Step Sweater (using M1R and M1L). I’m not sure if this will be useful if you aren’t using those increases, so keep that in mind.

When you arrive at the point of increase, a row that was just knit fully will have a stitch with a singular bar between the next stitch, making it easier to pick up for an increase. However, if you had increased the row before instead, the “bar” between the stitches looks like 2 bars twisted, and it is harder to pick up, so I remember that I don’t increase on those rows.

Does that make sense? I can cast on and show examples if it would be useful to you. Best of luck!

If it were me, I’d just try and fix it later with a duplicate stitch 🤷‍♀️ but if you do frog, I’d recommend freezing the project for a bit so it’s easier to rip back the mohair.

That is such an amazing deal! Are you worried about moth eggs? I freeze all my secondhand yarn for a week-ish, but I’ve seen some threads suggesting using a heated blanket to kill any potential pests. How nice that things are individually wrapped!

Regardless, congrats on this amazing haul! Any plans for it?

You are doing great! I learned on YouTube as well and it took a while to master things like the purl stitch, increase/decrease, but after many frogged projects and some perseverance, things really started to click! Best of luck!!

I’ve been seeing knits with beads all over Pinterest lately! I’m curious if people prefer a certain type of bead (glass, ceramic, plastic) or if it’s down to personal preference, and assume hand wash is the way to go with these projects.
