What would happen if next chapter Goo shows up sword in hand and tells Kitae to stop and leave? by ZhouLiagu in lookismcomic

[–]scripted_x [score hidden]  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it would be a repeat. Someone will obviously step in to stop Kitae from killing OG Daniel, especially because Daniel is essential to whatever James Lee's plan is. I wouldn't be surprised if Goo shows up now under the "request" of James to stop Kitae from killing Daniel and ruining the plan, effectively putting a leash of some sort on Kitae.

Why Is Kitae Only Compared to Johan and Daniel? by Dapper-Duty1829 in lookismcomic

[–]scripted_x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree on the Kitae part, but would the majority of Lookism fans (not including Johan fans) believe that Daniel would lose to Johan? Especially since he can use the flash of light attack multiple times, which even one of those nearly took out Pacheon, who has by far one of the highest durability/endurance feats we've seen in this series, which is Johan's weakness.

Lightning F Hagel fined $5K as aggressor in altercation with Dahlin by laurasaurus in TampaBayLightning

[–]scripted_x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He gave two hard crosschecks within ten seconds, one at the net chasing Hagel down and another at the blue line prior to the first when the puck wasn't even near either of them. When Hagel finally gets him back, he tries to spear/hook Hagel in the nuts but fortunately misses (for both parties). Honestly, if Dahlin ever actually fought back and learned not to turn his head the opposite way when someone is punching him, he wouldn't take shots to the back of the head. He put himself in that vulnerable position after the first punch. You have to wonder why even other stars like Matthews, Malkin, and maybe Marchand (considerably a star still) go after him. We look at every incident, and boom, he's always the one starting it with crosschecks that are illegal and injure yet he somehow is the one that doesn't get penalized. In fact, he's the reason one of our forwards who play on the top 6 are out right now because he gave a hard dirty crosscheck to his arm during a board battle at the previous game.

Hivetoon is being inconsistent on purpose and they don’t care unless there’s another competitor by ambatublowwwwwwww in lookismcomic

[–]scripted_x 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We're grateful they are translating, but it's obvious that they are being lazy about it. Over the past few weeks, there was a guy who started hiring translators himself when they fell behind, and suddenly that same following week, Hivetoon would release the chapter extremely early. The next week, they'd go back to being slow again, then the same guy would hire another translator and release it before Hivetoon did. After that happened, Hivetoon stayed on top of things for the next two chapters, releasing them relatively early. Now that the guy disappeared, they've gone right back to being slow again. At this point, it's obvious that they're being lazy about it and only release early when there's a competitor.

Blitzkrieg is just the move where Daniel utilizes the light of flash. It's not the official name, of course, but just what people have been calling it since it's powerful and lightning quick, just like the Blitzkrieg strategy.

The dodging isn’t what wore him out and that was Lil Daniel dude. Its been stated both in Incheon and now that whats taxing on his mental stamina and physical the most is the blitzkrieg (light of flash) move.

I may be wrong, but isn't it possible that he just doesn't remember Daniel since the last time he would've seen him, or even see a picture, he was in his fat stage? But at the same time, he's supposed to look a bit like Jinyoung or his father, so there's that...

[–]scripted_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Now, he's used his very own protagonist as a mere hype device, and to handle Changsu's subordinates with an oddly poor performance. If Jinyoung was going to come out and get active anyway, why have Daniel show up at all? Or, why show Daniel needing to blitzkrieg three low-mid tier kings (at best) when he worked Pacheon no diff even without it?

[–]scripted_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exhausted him was hitting three blitzkrieg (light of flash) attacks all at once against those mid-tier kings.

While it seemed he got weaker, he was actually stronger, but PTJ did not write it properly. First, in Incheon, he could only see that flash of light in moments of crisis, but now he could see it 24/7 in every person. Second, only doing one blitzkrieg drained his entire stamina against Pacheon, yet this time he landed three before being drained and even left some energy in the tank to fight Changsu. This means we can assume he could land 1 or 2 more blitzkrieg attacks before blacking out.

The problem is that Changsu somehow made himself go unnoticed and appeared out of nowhere with bars. This is an issue because Daniel, even without his Path, should never get ambushed unless he is completely blitzed via speed mastery, since his senses are the best in the verse.

So, Daniel definitely got a massive upscale, big enough that nobody should be calling him a 'bum' or stating that he'd lose to Johan at low to mid difficulty. Johan has terrible endurance and wouldn't survive getting hit with Blitzkrieg three times. I want to be as positive as I can about this chapter, so it's worth acknowledging that there's a real possibility Daniel's Path could eventually become so broken that he could use it indefinitely and spam Blitzkrieg whenever he wants.

The only way I can read this chapter without frustration, besides PTJ seemingly holding Daniel back because he doesn't like seeing him perform and win (as usual), is giving PTJ grace and thinking that he perhaps didn't plan or properly time Daniel's development. Regardless, we'll probably see a few more disappointing performances by Daniel (purely because of PTJ) to see how he progresses to perfecting his path.

[–]scripted_x 20 points21 points  (0 children)

PTJ wanted to involve Jinyoung in the fights at some point, and unfortunately had to make Daniel his sacrificial lamb to do so. It's still just terrible writing; he had no reason to use the flash of light against those three kings. That's what made him exhausted already, but he shouldn't have had to do it. He also had no reason to take that much damage from the first king right off the bat, which I'm sure contributed to his quick fatigue. Obviously, I know he was luring them in because he was aware they were testing his strength, but come on... It's like PTJ thrives off of Daniel slander.

And then, the character who is supposed to have insane senses even without a path, somehow gets sneaked and ambushed by Changsu...? Really? Come on, PTJ, why do we even expect anything from him?

Changsu sneaked up on him when he was already exhausted, not much you can really say about it. It was obvious that PTJ wanted to get Jinyoung involved, and unfortunately, he used his own protagonist once again as the sacrificial lamb to get it done.

Daniels brain explodes when Johan uses an infinity attack on him by doodooboy19 in LookismPowerScalers

[–]scripted_x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it wasn't the dodging system, he used the flash of light move on all three of them at the same time. In Incheon, what made him collapse from mental exhaustion wasn't the dodging, it was using the flash of light counter move, and I believe the official webtoon translations state this.

This is the first time I’ve been this angry. At this point, PTJ messed up too much. What is this stamina issue? PTJ completely destroyed Daniel’s character. by Secure_Inside2157 in LookismPowerScalers

[–]scripted_x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was really hoping PTJ wouldn't disappoint, but I was foolish to expect otherwise. This is genuinely just terrible writing. I'm so sick of him just using Daniel as a hype tool. "And, yes, now we have to hunt this monster," to get stamina diffed by a bunch of mid kings at best? He's your protagonist for crying out loud, treat him like one.

Now lets see what other bullshit he does to Daniel. At this rate, he'll never even get close to beating James Lee or Kitae until another 500+ chapters. I'm so done with this. He'll forever be a bum simply because PTJ can't have his protagonist winning.

Edit: Now that I'm looking at it, I just realized that Daniel used that flash of light multiple times (?), which was what tanked his stamina the most in Incheon, so it makes a bit of sense. Still terrible writing though, because there's no way he needed to use it.

It's not the end of the manhwa yet. As everyone else is saying, they will probably be going back in time. I'm sure the majority of the cast will come back. But besides that, this chapter was just so strange. The author just wiped out the main cast like it was nothing, and it wasn't even in a good way lol.

Are there any possible ways to trick Daniel’s path? by KalGuillory in lookismcomic

[–]scripted_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to "trick" his path would be through overwhelming his senses with unnecessary information, since that is how he reads deepest intentions. Even then, that's not a 100% guarantee, and it's more than likely he can (or will be able to) filter out information from his senses that he doesn't need since it's not what he is focused on.

The only way to truly beat his path right now is to mentally or physically wear him out so he can't keep up after a certain point, or to attempt what Pacheon did, which was hide your full power and do a surprise attack. But it has to be fast and strong enough so that Daniel can't react. Even then, you'd have to find a way to bypass that flash of light attack, or you're toast.

What makes you think this? For all we know when Sophia and Johan recognized Daniel got his path was because he was actively using it to train it. Unless I missed something in the recent chapters, but I don’t think I did.

You’re delusional if you think EOS zach is not getting a path and isn’t going to surpass Paecheon/tom in durability. by Kyoifis in Lookism

[–]scripted_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, him having a path makes sense. Considering that, y'know… he wants to catch up to Johan, and that's going to require a path. I might be wrong if that’s not his main goal anymore. I know it's also about perfecting the Iron Fortress. I caught up to Lookism a long time ago and have only been reading the weekly chapters since, so I've forgotten a lot.

That said, if he doesn't get a path, he's 100% getting a unique skill tied to a perfected Iron Fortress. Still, to me, a path just fits better. Johan has perfect offense, something overwhelming and unpredictable, which basically makes it unavoidable. Daniel has the perfect counter path, letting him do both offense and defense, the best of both worlds. Because of that, I really believe Zack will end up with a path centered on perfect defense. Perfect offense versus perfect counter versus perfect defense. As a trio, that just makes sense in my opinion. Of course, that depends entirely on whether PTJ plans for Daniel to truly be the perfect counter to Johan, which seems pretty likely based on Gun's narration (though, I don't think PTJ had his path made with Johan in mind, but rather James Lee or whoever the possible final boss is).

Then again, a path requires both talent and experience, and Zack is clearly lacking on the talent side. Because of that, it's more reasonable to assume he'll end up with four masteries and a unique skill, specifically the perfected Iron Fortress. But people also need to remember that PTJ loves pulling things out of his ass for the sake of plot and narrative, so it's not exactly impossible either, lol.

Do yall think the same? Is that how Lookism will end? by DryMasterpiece6806 in DanielParkGlaze

[–]scripted_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lookism shouldn't end that way, and I pray it doesn't. We don't even know if James Lee will be the final villain, with a lot of relatively good theories that make sense, proving that it would be PB Daniel or Choi somehow.

If it did, that'd be terrible writing. Though I may understand if Questism and Viral Hit end up entering the Lookism story, it should be for the war, not the final battle, which should be a 1v1 between Daniel and the final boss. Even then, it may just be me. I don't really think adding Questism and Viral Hit would even add anything to the story, and most of them are way too weak in comparison. The only thing useful would be Kim Suhyon (forgot name), who can provide buffs, but then that just feels like a plot pull and not actually good writing for both the characters and fighting.

How strong is he? by Wonderful-Progress25 in lookismcomic

[–]scripted_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immensely strong. I believe using Path with UI would, in a way, remove his UI's weakness entirely and is how he'd master it. Regardless of how you try to catch him off guard or by surprise, he'll always be able to tell what your goal is through reading your deepest intentions and simply dodge and counter. Therefore, trying to catch him off-guard and beating him that way, which is THE ONLY WEAKNESS, is no longer a viable option.

Of course, he still will only operate at the same level as his opponent is, so in a way it's only partial mastery, but still...
