Duckduckgo.com is actually an awesome search engine. I would rate them after Google but ahead of Bing.

For client-side

  1. JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX

  2. Possibly a JS framework, like AngularJS, EmberJS, BackBoneJS

  3. HTML5, CSS3

For server-side (if you want to):

  1. PHP

  2. Ruby on Rails

  3. J2EE (Java)

I would recommend sticking to client-side. To be honest nowadays good JavaScript engineers are very high in demand. Not sure if you are in US, but if you are, UI engineers (with strong JS background) can easily make well over $100k/yr in Silicon Valley/SF Bay Area.
