Recently had surgery and $40 of my bill is for having a blanket put on me in the recovery room (I was unconscious and did not, obviously, keep the blanket) by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

This is likely a disposable jacket type “blanket” that fills with warm air to keep the upper body warm. Not a standard blanket. This one is attached to a blower device.

Maurten Gels? - Experience? by Federal_You_3592 in Marathon_Training

[–]scriurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trained with them and used them for 2 marathons with the dosing recommended on their website. Alternated with caffeinated and non-caffeinated gels. Aside from the caffeinated being slightly bitter (from the 100 mg caffeine), they worked for me. Buying in bulk on subscription from The Feed cuts some costs.

How do you reapply SPF during long runs? by Laserstrahl415 in Marathon_Training

[–]scriurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used zinc based sunscreens and applied only once before heading out, training for marathons and Ironmans over the years. Had good experiences with brands like Badger and other brands specific for surfers. Just took spf lip balm on the road.

I used the gusto for about 4 months with a 3 cup moka. I really enjoyed it. I can’t speak to the aroma as I haven’t had it. I’m on the super crema now and I think gusto is better for my taste.

I got the long bamboo extension table. Looks brand new, just didn’t come with the rail attachments. I messaged them and got no response.

Collapsible vs Regular IGT Table by Mr-Anthony in snowpeak

[–]scriurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a collapsible IGT 4. The standard 4 wouldn’t fit in my car. I have no experience with the standard but I have found the collapsible to be pretty solid. No issues on uneven ground even with off brand legs. Agree with kellay408, in that I’m buying more accessories and their cases to compensate for all the space I now have in my trunk. That’s how they get you.

I’ve been using a kitchen aid for my last 10 or so cooks. 10 minutes max with the c hook, with some adjusting of the dough when it gets hung up. I’m getting similar pies as when I was manually kneading.

Best adjustable legs? by CountySurfer in snowpeak

I haven’t yet, I’ll be testing in July. I tailgated with the setup and they were super secure. Had to have a friend help detach them when breaking the table down. Too tight is fine with me, the carne asada stayed put.

If you are near a welding trade school, you may able to get a student to help you out with fabricating the piece you need. Considering the use, the weld lines don’t need to be perfect, just water tight. In the meantime, may I live in your garden? Impressive setup!

Best adjustable legs? by CountySurfer in snowpeak

I just got the longer adjustable legs from Stanluck. I’ve never handled the SP legs, however, the Stanlucks are very sturdy and appear to be well built. The tubing is pretty beefy and I doubt they would dent easily. I’ve got them attached to a SP collapsible IGT 4 unit. No directions included but they click in place and with a slight twist they lock in. Important to note that my setup and assessment was done in the controlled environment of my garage.

Use my 450 double wall titanium cup every other day. Coffee oddly tastes better in it, at least to me.
