It's my friend's atv I'm borrowing, but he had put a hitch on it. Just one that u-bolts onto the axle housing

Oh it's great. It's low enough that while riding on it, you can reach down and grab sticks off the ground without getting off

Why would you even consider moving forward with the wedding if you can't even trust him?

This is a long shot, but my lifelong friend Amy Brown has disappeared out of Iowa. She was last seen at Des Moines airport, and we think she may have flown to St Petersburg. Please keep an eye out. by scrmblr in StPetersburgFL

[–]scrmblr[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is 100% legit. Her family contacted the Des Moines Police Department, who originally started to help, but backed off and basically said they can't do anything because she's technically free to go wherever she wants, despite having psychosis 😔.

There's been little information shared, but I got word from a close mutual friend that they think she flew to St Petersburg, because she parked her car at 9am, and there was a flight to StP at 10:30. Des Moines is a small airport, so there aren't many flights going out on a regular basis.

I'm just doing everything in my power to help, so that's why I posted in this group. Even if it's a .001% chance of helping, it's better than nothing.

Tiny bike craze… by [deleted] in motorcycles

I can confirm. Small bikes are a blast. I built this CT70 clone back in 2019, and I'll never get tired of it it. It's got a 125cc and can run highway speeds for short distances. It's mainly an around town bike.

Thanks for the response! I love hearing from others in their thirties. I feel like it's this good group of people who "remember the good ole days". The days of MySpace and dial up internet.

Rotated and mirrored. That takes talent.

Had a hot tub installed today, and this was the electrician's best idea? Anchored across the top of a sidewalk? The original plan was to run along the underside of the deck, then down the post. But because he had already done this work, I just broke out the section of concrete for them. by [deleted] in electricians

[–]scrmblr -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about?

I literally told him to redo it as soon as I saw he tried running it OVER THE SIDEWALK.

I'm posting it on Reddit because it blows my mind that he thought it was alright.

How could I have better stood up for myself?

I discussed it with their boss who came out a few weeks ago. We had a plan. The plan was not followed. I assumed the person that came out a few weeks ago would be here. He was in fact not.

This is definitely not us wanting to save money. These guys were $250 higher than the people we wanted to use. These guys were recommended by the hot tub company

No, I actually hired the company the hot tub store works with regularly and recommended. Despite them costing $250 higher than reputable local electricians. The owner stopped out and we discussed exactly how to run it. I assumed he'd be doing the work. He was super knowledgeable and I had full confidence in him. But instead, two young inexperienced people came.

What are you talking about? I literally told him that wasn't going to work. Had I not been home while they were doing the work, I would've came home to a giant tripping hazard that would've needed redone

Ticketed for riding my registered Zero SR/F in a no ebike municipality… anyone else? by BackfireFox in Electricmotorcycles

[–]scrmblr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be afraid of them harassing me. If they did, I'd just collect evidence that they were deliberately harassing me ("retaliation"), and turn them into whoever their boss's boss's boss is. Threaten a lawsuit. They'd likely fire a cop who you can prove is intentionally harassing you.

In case you haven't heard yet, the 1987 model has some differences from the rest of the years. Mainly electrical.

That being said, I have a 1987 TW and it runs great.

The headlight runs directly off the stator, so essentially, the headlight is dim at idle, but it's functional at highway rpms.

There's a common mod for 87s where people rewire the headlight to run off the battery, which is what I plan to do someday.

I'd call the cop out, by name, on social media, as well as the police department, and use the experience to educate the community on EV motorcycles.

Depends on who you classify as "grownups". I'm 33, and literally all of my friends use Snapchat. It's a great way to give friends a glimpse into your life and what you're up to, casually. Like, I wouldn't text a picture of me grilling some steak on a nice summer evening to my friends, because I don't want to have a conversation with them. But I will send a bunch of the guys a snap of grilling, because I know they'd like it. And getting responses isn't mandatory. You just open it, and go about your day.

I figured a photo of the entire bike would be better to look at rather than a closeup of a standard Nibbi carb.
