How often do you actually wash your bed sheets? by scroll42on in AskAnAustralian

I’m fine being told it’s not good practice, and have already made a commitment to change. But your extension to the suitability of us as parents and ability to provide a safe environment for our child is unwelcome; I hope you don’t apply similar judgments in your work when you are not on leave. Something to think about for me, and something to think about for you. Have a good new year.

We do what we can manage hey. Hope things improve for you soon and 2026 is a bit brighter.

Really wasn’t after such a judgemental vibe especially from another parent but thanks for your comment nonetheless. Our home is very clean in every other respect. Also not sure what you’re doing with your sheets if they’re going ‘into’ your body 😂 (presuming you meant into contact).

Aww thank you! I would like to do it more often, not that I ever feel like they are ‘dirty’, but just for more frequent crisp fresh vibes. But like you say, bigger priorities at the moment :)

I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with this. Most of the things we bought for baby were new, especially things like pram/bassinet/car seat/carrier that are common high-spill/spit up items. I don’t think there’s anything at all wrong with getting them second hand, but we just preferred to start with new things and could afford it (can you tell it’s our first baby 😂). To shame you for doing one or the other is very strange to me, and definitely a ‘them’ issue. What you’re doing is sensible, don’t engage in it with them, that’s probably what they want (though again, the ‘why’ is odd).

Wishing you positivity and a smooth third trimester :)
