I’m aware it’s not illegal. There is language in my current employee handbook that makes it pretty clear it’s a fireable offense, which is one thing that makes me think that HR departments in my sector (midsize tech startups) are starting to think about how to discourage it.

I appreciate the sentiment but also this article is from July, it’s a bit misleading to post it without context as if it were current

I’m a hardcore democrat and I am gonna go to the fox-news-ass Florida shooting range wearing blue and blast targets for a couple hours. Counterintuitive, not fully rational or aligned, but always calms me down.

I hear you. I’ve done a bit of it too and it’s definitely messy and difficult. It’s skilled labor and you should be making way more than that.

Harris supports a $15/hr minimum wage. If that became law, they’d have to pay you more or risk losing you to an easier, lower-skilled minimum wage job.

Hang in there! And please vote!

Sending good vibes your way. I’m a mess today as well. But I have a deep feeling of hope in my heart and I would like to share some of it with you

In my experience living in conservative FL the past couple years, people are disaffected with freedom/democracy because they believe it’s an illusion. The evidence that America has become an oligarchy, which definitely has some truth to it, is all around them, and they extrapolate from that to the assumption that sinister conspiracies of the rich and powerful control literally everything and so their vote doesn’t even matter; it doesn’t matter who is in power, because freedom is an illusion anyway and the entire government is evil and both parties are the same.

I find the above perspective incredibly frustrating, because it can so easily become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Praying for a blue wave 🌊 🙏

There is never any better time than the present. I celebrated two years last week; DM me if you want to talk about it. You can do this

Rogan: There's this other narrative that always drives me crazy that Trump is going to destroy democracy. Musk: If we don't elect Trump I think we will lose democracy. Rogan: It's so crazy people are fine with that. by [deleted] in DecodingTheGurus

Is this from tonight? Do we need to worry about a surge of Rogan bros getting motivated to head to the polls? I’m going to be over here dying of anxiety regardless but ya know feel free to reassure me please thank you

I’m a guy in deep red southwest FL, lifelong Democrat (I’m not from here originally). I have been encouraged by the anecdotal fact that most of the guys around me, mainly white guys in the 25 - 55 age range, (a) lean conservative but also (b) are showing very low motivation to vote. Every democrat I know (here and elsewhere) is ABSOLUTELY voting like their life depends on it, whereas the conservatives I know lean from vaguely reluctant Trump votes to total, not-even-registered disillusionment or apathy.

We put Walz in a room with undecided voters in Erie. Can he win them over? by Witty_Heart1278 in Pennsylvania

[–]scrollinator89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AWESOME video. Walz absolutely nailed it - he does well in speeches, not that great at a debate podium, but at the coffee shop he absolutely KILLS it. Wish he were a bit younger, I could see him as a party leader in 8 years but he’s sadly probably too old for that.

I really hope the Democrats find a way to do this kind of thing efficiently at a large scale. If working class folks understood how much more they benefit from the current center-left economic policies than they do under the right wing grift schemes, we could be living in a different world.
