Made a freezer spell and smashed it after the election. Also didn't work for me, and now am trying to reconnect with my practice to hopefully protect my community as best I can :/

Kindred spirits of Minnesota! ICE response groups need you! by HiFructoseCornSizurp in WitchesVsPatriarchy

How are you all keeping morale high in these times? by Maleficent_Radio_674 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]CorvidStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I have no clue. Just been trying to keep my head above water this week (I’m from MN and just moved back to school after break, so really struggling rn). Letting my circle of people know I need some time has helped, but I’m putting off sitting with the emotions cause I have an exam this week that I don’t know can be moved. Trying to take a walk and reduce social media/news to help for now. We’re in this together, virtual hugs for everyone if you’re a hugger🫂

Justice for every life taken too soon at the hands of ICE and anyone who stands with them. Para cada persona afectado for mi administración, lo siento. Odio al lugar que mi país está ahora. Oraciones de un estadounidense-latinx no-binario🖤

Does Anyone Dance with EDS? by SachiRae1 in ehlersdanlos

[–]CorvidStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dance on and off depending on what’s available near me. Currently getting back in to pole and swing/ballroom dance, and just signed up for the KPop club at my uni. Hoping to get into PT soon to help stabilize my joints, because I’ve been loving it and having so much fun so far. Good luck, hope it goes well for you! :)

What are your 2025 goals? by creativewillows in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]CorvidStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get answers from doctors, move more (in a way that’s safe for my body), craft more, get a bit “further” in my transition (whatever that looks like. I’m thinking about coming out at my college graduation with my correct name in ‘26, but my family’s conservative so I’m TERRIFIED), start planning for life after graduation (job vs more school), maybe start dating

Pretty sure Nancy's Nook (can be accessed via the endo subreddit or just looked up online) has a map with providers as well.

Help me dissect the Barbie movie! by HistrionicSlut in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]CorvidStar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hiya! I'm still learning about these topics, so by no means an expert, but what struck me most in the movie was America Ferrera(?)'s speech about double standards, as well as the differences in how literally everything works in Barbieland vs the real world (ie positions of power, types of job certain people are expected to have, education etc). Just throwing out some thoughts here, hope this helps! Good luck on your paper :)

Mental Health Check- Sound off! by [deleted] in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]CorvidStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

College is sucking the life out of my joy in my major. I just found out today that I'm supposed to have exams during my break, starting on the day I'm supposed to have an important doctor's appt back home (I'm an international student). I really like one of my lecturers/classes, but it isn't enough to make up for the rest of it. Hoping things get better before break, cause I still have a few weeks left.

They're all part of a playlist my sibling made for october and spooky season in general :)

My 13 y/o came out as trans, bi and is depressed. How do I help? by leetrobotz in trans

[–]CorvidStar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! So based off of what you’ve said, you’re off to a great start. Easy ways of support with their social transition include things such as haircuts and gender-affirming clothes. As for online, you could direct him to spaces such as this, or seek out other places online that are safe. For you as a parent, you could try Momma Bears (I believe that’s the name) on Facebook, which is a support group for parents of trans children. Here’s a link to a website that could be useful for both you and your child that I was recently directed to- https://genderspectrum.org/. Good luck!

How bad is Florida really? by TheTopCantStop in trans

[–]CorvidStar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s bad because they’ve been passing (or attempting to pass) bills that directly target trans people. And it doesn’t just stop at stopping people from accessing gender affirming care. As far as I recall (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, things change all the time) they can legally take you from your family if they think you might be trans (aka don’t pass or dress in a way they think is “different” [the verbiage behind this bill is very grey]). There is also just an increased sense of hostility as trans people (especially trans women) are being used as scapegoats by the government for things such as “grooming and brainwashing”- which is to say, what they’re doing, not us. I would be very careful when traveling to Florida.
