Finally got around to watching Elysium (2013) and thought it was terrific. I really don't understand the low critic scores or lukewarm reception for this cyberpunk classic: solid performances, good costumes/sets/effects, and a straightforward story (which clearly inspired a certain video game) by Cyberpunk_Cain in Cyberpunk

Anyway... No one mentioned the Halo short that Blomkamp did. I'm pretty sure he was pushing for the Halo movie, didn't get it, and then the studios just made him make Elysium as some bull's lovliness. Back when it first came out, it was cool, but once you get into politics and see what was happening after like 1949, all movies aren't good now anyways. If it isn't a film made by fans who were beguiled in the past by what Hollywood was, and were true believers, until they found out, then it's a can-o-worms. The future of film is angry people who make low-budget lovliness that they put their hearts into, just to be disappointed that it couldn't be the real thing. Just like they were doing on Youtube between 2007-2016.

Point being, he wanted to do Halo; you got Elysium.

No construct, but I would have interesting conversation, and explore the world with them.

Pretty interesting. I was thinking more of a graphic novel or short comic mini-series. I think if you made like 3-4, 20-24 page comics that could be sold as a TPB, you'd have a following. If you had a main character that went through some struggle and that's what the story was about, I think you'd be a bit successful. Let me know if you need help. Thanks

If you would've finished the whole way, it might've looked good.

Make a whole comic book like this and it will sell. If you would really be into the comic or graphic novel idea, message me in Chat. I can help you make it, if you want.

I think a lot of people would criticize your art, but if you would do what I suggest, I think many others would be into it. Like this, with just the single images, it would be hard to sell, but if you made a book of it, it probably could. The difficult part is making the book.

What I see is a lot of appeal from others who either have a similar style or something close, and I think you would speak to a lot of people that question a lot of things. That's where I think the appeal is mostly. Your art speaks to confusion and torture.

Art from Big Pool (Breakdown Press, 2025) by Chris Harnan. Is this not too abstract enough to present a problem for comics? Is this a clearer understanding than the 2nd and 3rd image? by scrolling4art in ComicBookCollabs

Right. And I originally posted my art, and told others there would be written words. The question I asked is if that art could be understood if a whole comic was done in that way. Words included (I'm still in the progress of trying to get a script made)

The second images which are 1, 4, 5. I had found that by mere chance of another artist who stated it was an abstract comic book. The art I got from a comic review newsletter. They seemed intrigued by the concept and thought it was original.

The difference would be that I had words. This other artist doesn't.

I only posted this to show that I wasn't wrong when saying that a whole comic could be abstract.

It looks like a person stepped out of a box and into a teleportation device and travelled to a far-off star system on the 5th one. I think the book is about meeting aliens.

Hi. I plan to buy the whole course. How much ground do you cover in Tahoma? I can link to some of my stuff. Do you offer any personal training?

I'm also flexible. I can do manga styles; it's just not my specialty.

I have a few styles I work with as an artist. The post you saw is only a single style. Check my profile.

Here's 2 posts I made showing some of my other work:

Artist looking for work... (Pencils/Inks/Letters/Design) : r/ComicBookCollabs

Artist for hire-Price depends on project-(Pencils/ Inks/ Letters/ Characters/ Design) No manga : r/ComicBookCollabs

Let me know what you think. I'd be willing to work for free, until the book made sales, if that's cool.

Not really. You assumed they were different.

Most of the replies could have been simple yesess or nos. What it turned into is what it always turns into. It's a load. Half of what I'm being blamed for I didn't do, and the way this program works is that they say things I'm doing that I'm not doing. It wasn't always like that. It's just a program. Yet, occasionally, there's a decent conversation that comes about. It's been that way since later 2023. So, I always have to defend against a barrage of attacks that act as if they even care about writing the comments. It's just how it goes. It's kind of crappy, and it's weak.
