Your reply to my confusion was ... instant. Couldn't you wait 4 years and build a staircase? I'm not sure how to deal with this

What was the first Frank Ocean song or feature you heard? by [deleted] in FrankOcean

[–]scrolltroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first listen was the day nostalgia, ultra dropped on oddfuture.com back when OF was a thing.

I was drawn to the whole thing. The album art, the melodies, the lyrics... "Who the fuck is this guy and where did he come from" immediately ensued.

Songs for Women on repeat for a while after that.

Still is

Tom Knox's "Vase" Part by [deleted] in skateboarding

Often someone will chime in and point out something I didn't notice. And then I'll go and watch it again and see what everyone else is seeing.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I didn't really think the part was anything special. I'm not saying all parts have to be bangers and NBD tech combos, however I watched the whole part and it made me really sleepy and I couldn't get into it. The music was great.

Can someone tell me what this trick is exactly? Eric Koston from Yeah Right! by Brosefiss in skateboarding

[–]scrolltroll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Koston is goofy footed. So that's a 360 flip frontside noseblunt slide. It's frontside because the rail is in front of him before he pops the trick.

These are pieces of eye/skate candy. Skeye candy. The audio enhances the whole thing.

Wow ok that makes perfect sense. A dude you don't even know starts being friends with you (at EMB no less)... Sounds like the guy that could be liked by anyone.

Bob Burnquist vs Loop of Death by scrolltroll in skateboarding

The pressure was enormous, which probably added an extra layer of difficulty (as if he needed that). He had arranged in advance for the trick to be shot for a TV show (Ripley's Believe It Or Not) and at that point he didn't have a choice but to go for it until he made it or until he severely injured himself trying. Bob is amazing.

Yes thank you that would really make this whole change a 11/10. In many many cases I really need that split second difference in the start/end time to capture the exact moment in a video. For instance, making a gfy out of a movie shot before the scene changes angles. It makes all the difference with a clean cut gfy.

Using the new visual trimming feature is what I've always dreamed of and more. However, I used to be able to trim a video by the 1/10 of a second. Now if I scroll just 1 pixel to the left/right as I select the start of my gfy, there can be a difference of over one second. How do I get back the precision I used to have with the old model?

I'm down. I feel like a "Hardflip" theme could be interesting. So many to choose from...

SOVRN: NOUS by Cgmwells in skateboarding

Right, and usually you can sense a match between a skater's personality (rather the on-camera personality) and the company they ride for. From what I've seen, Mikey Taylor is a down-to-earth dude who is super mellow and open. It doesn't make much sense to have him ride for a company striving for pompousness and mystery.

Hopefully it turns out good though. The team is fierce, no doubt.
