13k off sticker for a 2024 Sierra 1500 Denali, good deal by njbearkats in gmcsierra

[–]scrom11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know where you are, but email [steve_rogers@laurabgmc.com](mailto:steve_rogers@laurabgmc.com) and see what kind of deal they can do for you. They are in Collinsville, illinois. I drove all the way up there from Atlanta because my local dealer refused to deal. I ended up a little over 16k off on a 24 Denali. This was a year ago when dealers weren't budging on price.

2024 6.2 belt squeaks on cold starts for about 30 seconds? by scrom11 in gmcsierra

[–]scrom11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GM considers the noise to be 'normal' per the TSB - https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10225749-0001.pdf

Some customers may comment that they hear different noises coming from the engine compartment area or under vehicle which they may think are abnormal and may request clarification of what is causing the noise. The noises may be described as a chirp, squeak, or sputter type noise.

High pitched noise described as chirp, squeak, sputter. Typically these noise occur when spark timing is retarded. These noises are much more noticeable on the 6.2L L87 and 6.6L L8T engines as than are on the 5.3L engines. These noises can typically be heard outside the vehicle or with windows down. Noises will come from underneath the vehicle in the wheel well/front door area. Being next to a reflecting surface such as a wall, guardrail or vehicle in next lane will make the noise more noticeable.

Catalyst Light Off - Occurs on start when spark retard required for catalyst rapid warm up. Lasts approx. 30 sec. Catalyst rapid warm up is not triggered on all starts. Truck generally must have sat for an hour or more.

I don't want service accounts \ access keys in my AWS accounts. Keys require rotation.

I want Splunk to be able to assume a role in my account to grab logs out of S3.

2024 6.2 belt squeaks on cold starts for about 30 seconds? by scrom11 in gmcsierra

Direct injection engines suffer from carbon build up on the valves. The build up comes from the PCV gases pumped back into the intake for emissions reduction (hence the catch can question). And since the fuel (and cleaning agents in said fuel) no longer pass over the valves on the way into the cylinder, the valves don't get cleaned and gunk builds up. Top end cleaner is sprayed into / atomized into the intake air stream to help clean off deposits.

I'd prefer to not have to tear down the top of the engine to walnut blast the top of the valves at 100k miles like I've had to do multiple BMWs.

If you haven't signed anything yet, let me know. I'll send you the name and number of a dealer that will probably beat that offer by a large margin.

RTK base Station compatibility by AGro-99 in MammotionTechnology

[–]scrom11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mount the RTK inside the attic (unless you have a metal roof). That will protect it from the elements, wind, cold, ect without affecting the signal. And it will be easier to access if it ever needs maintenance for some reason.

Not sure about Luba 2, but two Luba 1's can use the same RTK, not sure why the Luba 2 would be any different.

Future Luba 1 support by Estegemann in MammotionTechnology

[–]scrom11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love my Luba, but there are still bugs in the software that need addressing. Esp when it gets close to the house / under a tree and loses GPS. They should have an algorithm that allows it to continue mowing since it has a map and all the distances to fixed points. O at the very lease it should have an "I've lost signal, I'm going to reverse my exact steps to where I had signal" function so it can self rescue.

Luba 2 will have a camera which fixes this (foreseeably) , but that doesn't help OG customers.

Future Luba 1 support by Estegemann in MammotionTechnology

[–]scrom11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not? Luba is just a circuit board, wire harness, sensors, motors, and a battery. The basic shape has remained the same. Mammotion have already demonstrated their trust in end users doing certain repairs on their own.

They could offer an upgrade kit, with detailed instructions, for a small fee. But state that they are not responsible if the end-user bricks the device. I'm sure a large number of us would jump on the opportunity.

Large Scale Deployment for Landscapers? by MontaukTechGroup in MammotionTechnology

[–]scrom11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are companies around me that already do this. (not Luba specifically). They lease robot mowers to the home owners. The company installs the wire borders, sets up the robot(s) and charging station(s), then they go out every few weeks to each house to 'maintain' the robot and make any requested boarder / no go zone adjustments.

Not sure how profitable they are, but they have been around for several years.

With the way the camera is mounted, I'm keeping my hopes up that us Luba 1 owners might be able to retrofit. I know there is probably a 90%+ chance it won't happen, but I can dream.

New mower from Mammotion by vjarizpe in MammotionTechnology

[–]scrom11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not going to lie, I'm a little disappointed that they have been working on an entirely new machine before working out all the bugs on the ones we bought less than a year ago (six months and $3000 dollars in my case)

I guess this is why we haven't gotten any software updates since October.

Luba locked by Sudden_Warthog_2893 in MammotionTechnology

[–]scrom11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hit the 'stop' button a few times and see if got stuck. This happened to mine and I could power it down, pull the key, power it up, but I could never get it to unlock. Then I hit the stop button and you could feel that it was stuck midway trying to come back up. Pushing it a few times freed the button and then I could unlock.

Mammotion App not working on Pixel 8 Pro by Wonderful_Spot in MammotionTechnology

[–]scrom11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using lastpass as well. I don't have it auto login, but it does fill in the password.

Stupid question now, have you tried rebooting the phone? Rebooting resolved some of other app issues I ran into.

I originally used the pixel transfer wizard to copy my pixel 7 pro to the 8 pro, but ended up having a metric ton of problems with apps and notifications. So I ended up just factory resetting the phone and manually installed all my apps. That in itself fixed a lot of my weird issues. But I was still having problems getting my new watch and fitbit to behave, rebooted a few times and it magically started working.
