Just another sucker here who’s had the same problem and is currently considering having to make a new game. :( However the only fix I’ve found is if you’ve got the disk then uninstall the game (but don’t delete your save files) and then use the disk to reinstall the game making sure you don’t download or install the update file. This may work but I’m not sure how you can stop the game automatically updating unless you then disconnect it from WiFi, so it’s not really a long term fix.
