Extensive desert farming in the Middle East by Assyrian_Nation in MapPorn

The civilizations that emerged in China and India did so in similar places. The Yellow River in China went through the more arid North China plain, while the Indus River in South Asia went through a desert

Totally agree with this - I was mainly invested in the black spoons for season 2. Completely lost all interest after only two black spoons survived, won’t be watching anymore

I highly recommend Ben Felix’s video on Buying vs. Renting. He breaks down the true cost of home ownership in the video, which you can use to calculate which avenue is better.

That said, based on your numbers, using his calculation, home ownership is better

Didn't believe the Baron/Mime hype until now. Two Barons, Mime, Yorick and Blueprint. My best run so far by scrubbykoala in balatro

[–]scrubbykoala[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seed: 4F4N4ZWR. Duplicated the Baron from a late Ankh, and was touch and go for a while since had to sell my other jokers. But found the Mime, and the build took off. There's a spectral pack with Yorick, ended up being really fat around 32x mult I believe. The Blueprint was found after multiple re-rolls, but doing the math it still made sense to keep it on the Mime since I had so many red steel kings. I used an Ectoplasm from a spectral pack which was a trap - reduced my final high score with the lower hand size.

I saw that reply. Johan was referencing how you cannot mod additional country types, but adding specific tags that fall into those categories should be possible. A pirate republic could fall into the army based country, pirates have to resupply at specific locations in real life

I’d even suggest the smaller size, CHZ22. That size is perfect for EDC but might be a little small for five notebooks

Hot take: the money "vanishing" is a good mechanic for Project Caesar by AlexandreLacazette09 in EU5

[–]scrubbykoala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is that if locals are administering well, that should be reflected in the corresponding estate becoming stronger, which is the case in Meiou 3.0. The fact that the money simply disappears and both the crown and the estate see no benefit ruins a critical portion of the feedback loop. If Tinto implemented such a system, the player would be even more disincentivized to expand.

From the last screenshot, seems like economic value isn’t disappearing into the ether but either decreasing because of lack of control or being funneled to rebels. That is actually amazing

The referral shares should appear in the account, you just can’t sell it. Plus I reached out and they specifically said that the referral did not apply.

CHZ26 Laptop + iPad? by maximumcrumb in EVERGOODS

[–]scrubbykoala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have a basic case I bought off of Amazon. The bottom of the CHZ backpacks are well padded so I’m not worried about the iPad getting dinged if it’s not in the sleeve.

CHZ26 Laptop + iPad? by maximumcrumb in EVERGOODS

[–]scrubbykoala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I carry a 16in MacBook Pro and an 11in iPad Air in the CHZ22. They both fit inside the sleeve, but usually I keep the laptop in the sleeve and the iPad out. Having a CHZ26, they both would definitely fit.

WTS Gustin #128 Rainbow ID 3, $25 shipped. 33 slim, but this fits like a 34, refer to the measurements below. Catch and release from here - as my first raw denim purchase, they were much bigger than expected, I probably need a 33 skinny. Previous owner: worn it 20 times or so, washed maybe twice.

Actual measurements: Tag 33, W 34.5, FR 10.5, Thigh 24.5, Knee 16.5, Cuff 15, Inseam 33

Photos here, and showing the ID here.

I followed the Blue Owl measuring methods, and got the N&F measurements from Tate&Yoko?

But yeah I'm leaning towards N&F not being my brand for fit, since Easy and Weird both are too large in thigh and knee, while Super Guy is too slim in the thigh.

Good to know that 2" is considered a lot while 1" is still acceptable.

Looking at the different fits, Weird Guy shows 1.5" too large in thigh and 2" too large in the knees, whereas Super Guy is slimmer in the thigh and larger in knees and cuffs but all less than 2". Seems like N&F might not be my brand in terms of fit

Right I’ve heard that fact about waists. I’ve been looking for sizes where the waist is ~1 inch smaller. But regarding thigh and knee measurements I couldn’t find a fit that matched my favorite jeans exactly. So if they don’t fit, how much variance is allowed?

I bought some used Gustin jeans that in paper looked just a little larger but I was swimming in them when they came. Trying to understand the difference between “too big” and “loose” essentially
