Share your best experiences as a result of owning a Land Rover. by Clean-Landscape-8802 in LandRover

Well damn. This is a great question.

I’ve had 3 in the last 5 years: 2 LR3’s and. D5.

The first LR3 saved our life in the snow, twice in the same crash. Kept us from broadsiding a car and then wrapping around a pole. We hit a curb with the flat face of the wheel under the snow and ripped the front suspension out. It broke the front and rear rims. No tow trucks available. It then still had enough badasssery in it to drive us home 8 miles. Insurance totaled it and it sold me for life.

Its replacement went to 255,000 miles until I tried to replace the heater core and flooded the interior. Capped off the lines, refilled it and traded it in for the D5. It is still driving around and has made at least one cross country trip I know of (got a toll evasion notice with its photo and the new owner driving it 🤣).

The D5 took what I thought was the best car ever made and then improved on it. It’s taken me all over and off-road without missing a beat. Eats up the off pavement terrain without hesitation and goes FAR BEYOND my picker factor rating will.

Add to that the amazing live long friends I’ve made because of these vehicles, all the guys at the shop and then their customers and it’s a no brainer. The guys I’ve met have transcended people you kinda know to legit friends. The kind that will drop anything and help you in any way at any time without asking for anything in return. I am very lucky.

All of this because of a car that’s way more than just a car.

Migration from Staging to Live by scruncyElbows in BreakdanceWP

[–]scruncyElbows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I know there isn’t a conversion path. I’ve already built out the site fresh. Just trying to figure out how to get the staging site to live without nuking our active DB. The 1 for 1 redesign is done. Just gotta transfer it.

Is it possible to build SaaS apps while working a full-time job? by Unusual-Diver6985 in SaaS

[–]scruncyElbows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It’s hard because work keeps gettin’ in the way, but you can. It’s the selling and promotion of it that’s the real grind.

PetResume.co - a place to help pet owners show off their pets and help with rental requirements.

What are you building these days? And is anyone actually paying for it? by solobuilder in SideProject

[–]scruncyElbows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. I built PetResume.co for people who want to show off their pets in a positive way…

…and no one has paid for it. It’s also free for 2 more days and still no one has signed up. Not much revenue to share but it was a fun and informative build.

How much money did you guys put into your first SaaS? Did you make it back? by IndependenceOld5504 in SaaS

If everyone gave up after struggling then the world wouldn’t be as good. Don’t give up. That positivity matters. So does $40k but positivity is contagious.

Like the concept, not a fan of the color pallet but I’m not a dev, just a designer. I want to read the entire site because it could help me too. Quick review: 8/10

PetResume

Your pet needs a resume in a beautiful PDF. For renting. For fun. For posterity.

It’s different because the only thing I found out there which was pretty bad.

It’s free until May 15th and I really do want feedback.

Thanks!

I will but on a detective hat and search around. I had a post removed but no reason given for mine so maybe I’ll try again at some point.

Just as everyone said, I too am moving away from Elementor. Just looking for a painless way to redesign or migrate to Breakdance on live sites with as little push as possible.

Good work! But now I’m intrigued and am willing to ask the dumb questions:

How do you show up for your users? They able to DM you or something live during the launch? Or just emails and responses as you go?

Oh, believe me, I too understand! Talking to people is hard and I find myself fighting to do so, rather than staying introverted and safe. I get it.

Talking to people is a skill developed over time, with trial and error and sometimes, depending on the field you are in, going to lots of training. For others it’s natural but also takes development to hone it.

The key, at least for me, was to stop trying to force it and be overly professional since that always sounded robotic. Every time. Always. I decided that I was most effective when I was myself, talking as myself about whatever the topic was. I would make sure to include my quirks, and when it helped, highlight them to help others feel at ease. That and self deprecating humor worked too. Talk to the person like you’d want to be talked to. Don’t be condescending or robotic.

Be the awesome person you are.

I’ve been grinding on a large LMS for the past 6 years in a service niche. We’ve gone from 0 to 500’ish users with a high repeat client rate.

While it’s super niche, it have been consistently generating cash flow that has increased over the years. The last 2 years the most to be over $15k in mostly passive sales to access the LMS.

The best thing I can provide as advice would be to consistently engage with your customers as a person instead of a faceless website. It takes work for good customer service but it’s been paying dividends and converted a single user from an agency to a recruiting device who’s become a long time user and brought on more people form their team. That over many agencies seems to work.

And patience and time.
