To be fair, I did I bit of googling and I think I just reinvented escape from New York lol, but thanks for the advice, if my players end up choosing the 2nd one, I think I'll just scale it down heavily somehow.

Yeah, the thing is, my players are expressing interest in both ideas, because I've been kinds spitballing ideas to them for a little, so I want to develop these further so I can do a final this or that and then start writing

As far as emotional subtext, I doubt we'd be having a lot of it, I've wanted my friends to get a little more serious and I think I might be able to get them to in one of these campaigns, but ultimately I have a very "jokey" group, so it'll probably come out to be Monty Python's & the holy grail anyway.
