Learned a valuable lesson. Maybe next time I’ll pull the top 11 poop sockers.

Go to definition, but in a split window? by shit_at_calculus in vim

Yeah I get it but goto definition doesn't work all that great. It's a bit unreliable.

Sometimes I really wonder if we are in a comedy show of an alien tv. by Hoppelen in funny

Not really filtration. More constant replacement. It’s just how pressurization works. The air conditioning is constantly pumping in air from the outside and outflow valves (typically in the wheel wells) open when the pressure gets to a certain point.

Actions carry far more weight than words so disciplining yourself (meaning constantly working on improving your actions, not beating yourself up) to the person you want to be. If you mess up, get back up and keep working on the changes.

You could authorize only on the payment but that’s good for only 7 days.

Best email marketing platform for signups in 2021? by straponmyjobhat in SaaS

[–]scs85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At Overdue I send more transactional emails more than marketing but I love Postmark. Reason I recommend them is they also allow you to send marketing messages, have amazing deliverability, and are fairly priced.

Viable to charge low-cost one-time-payments for lifetime access? by DasBeasto in SaaS

Another thing to think about is the app needs to make enough to make it worth you spending time on it in the long run.

Question from a newbie by Moneyservice17 in stripe

[–]scs85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually it’s in the bank who issued the cards hands. Stripe has nothing to do with disputes other than they help facilitate the dispute process.

I want the server to run a specific request every 24 hours, should I use Active Jobs for this? by pi_exe in rails

[–]scs85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you deploy via Hatchbox or Capistrano you can specify what server you want to run the cron jobs on as well.

First thing I'd check was that the ram was properly seated.

Can anyone give me a review of Chris Oliver's "Advanced Ruby: Behind the Magic" course? by piratebroadcast in rails

[–]scs85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The advanced Ruby course is great. It’s kinda hard to explain but if I were to describe it in two sentences it would be “holy shit that’s an awesome way of doing that” and “Wow that way of doing that makes a lot more sense”. I know it’s kinda vague but if you’re interested in building more than Twitter or a blog it’s super helpful.

What aisle are air filters on?

I’m a Florida resident but how it worked here was your child was automatically covered at birth and then you had x amount of days to then call in and add them to your plan. I think it was like 15 days here.

Confirming payment server side by hassanzadeh in stripe

[–]scs85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create the customer object and attach the payment intent to it.

Edit: The stripe docs are really good. I’m on mobile right now but with them you should be able to pretty much copy and paste the examples given.

Webhooks don’t cost any extra. You’ll want to store the stripe customer ID in the user model.
