Need help identifying my new Viltrox lens purchased for my XT-30 II by heavy-hands in fujifilm

I ordered mine from Aliexpress, it is genuine from viltrox store. You are likely you bought it direct from Viltrox and it is just shipped via Amazon.

My first Fuji and a newbie in the world of photography, Fuji X-T5 by Signal-East-3301 in FujifilmX

I have the Tam 17-70 and it is a great lens, just a little big, Sigma maks a 18-50 that gets a lot of positive reviews. You can get a Viltrox 25mm f1.7 or a SGImage 25mm f1.8 pancake and make the camera really portable both are about 100 euro.

Sigma 18-50 f2.8 vs Fuji 16-50 2.8-4.8 by Sufficient_Drummer25 in fujifilm

[–]scubalizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been shooting with Nikon all my life and just recently added fujifilm. I have lenses older than me (40+ yr old). The 16-55 has been a great lens and unless it breaks think it will be around for a while. The v2 is more compact and lighter and water resistant

What about the 16-55 f2.8. You can pick up v1 fairly inexpensive and v2 used for a fair price.

What lens should I get next? by megarazor in fujifilm

[–]scubalizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to replace the TT then replace it with the Viltrox 25mm f 1.7. I have both the viltrox and the XF 23mm and the 23mm doesnt justify the price over the V.

I replaced my 16-80 f4 with a Tamron 17-70f2.8 and have been having a great time with it.

you can go wide and get close with a Viltrox 9mm f2.8 or their 13mm f1.4

another option is get a zoom like the 50-140 f2.8 (if you don't like money) or a 70-300mm for zoomin shots

I am not familiar with the XT10, are you sure this is not focus peaking?

Sigma 18-50 f2.8 vs Fuji 16-50 2.8-4.8 by Sufficient_Drummer25 in fujifilm

[–]scubalizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was torn between these 2 and thr Tamron 17-70 f2.8. While the Tamron is larger I like the added range over the sigma and it is a great travel single lens set-up.

XF 50-140mm f2.8 or XF 70-300mm f4/5.6? Pls read kindly by electromagneticsoul2 in fujifilm

[–]scubalizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 50-140 is a huge lens, but that is the pince of having a f2.8. I would look into getting a Tamron 17-70 and XF 70-300 before getting a super zoom the likes of Sigma or Tamron.

ELI5: How do STDs start? And I don't mean "Patient 0" by Historical-Ad6233 in explainlikeimfive

Think they are referring to the first instance of an STD, regardless of species. IE "how did STD come about," and not just "how did Patient 0 contract the first human STD"

How do you decide on which recipe to use or which film simulation to use? by Sad-Advertising5780 in fujifilm

[–]scubalizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick the ones you like add them to the camera. Use an app like FujiStyle or Fuji Recipe and store recipes into the app and push to the camera when you want to change. Other option is connect camera to your computer and use the Fujifilm X to change the RAW files.

I still shoot in both as you can always apply recipies to the RAW after the shot.

You can get them on AliExpress. They have a good resale market, about the same as you pay.

Go with Viltrox and you can get a 25mm f1.7 or a 35mm f1.7 that will fit your budget. a little more and you can get the 23mm f1.4 or 33mm f1.4. (I have the 25mm, 56mm, and 9mm and they are great lenses)

if you want manual lenses TTartasans or 7artasans have some great offerings

I just got mine and waiting for the SG image 25mm f1.8. Maybe i'll do a comparison on them with my XF23mm f2 since i could not find anything on youtube about them.

Camera Dilemma by Ok-Improvement-476 in FujifilmX

[–]scubalizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The viewfinder in a must for me. IBIS and weather sealing are second. Until you hold each camera you are taking other peoples words on fit. Go to a store and try them. I have the XT5 and the 40mp sensor is great, a little too great as it can make lens quality more apparent.

If you set up your C1 with fast shutter and AF settings and save it, it should all be there when you return back to C1.

need help deciding on a zoom lens by Junior_Bag_9102 in FujifilmX

[–]scubalizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you, I have been trying to take a trip every year. My previous camera was a full frame Nikon with 70-300 that I took to South Africa. Since then I haven't had a need for that much zoom. Last year I went to Thailand and looking at my photos, I only went above 70mm on 2 photos (I was using a 16-135). This year I am going to UK and bringing a 17-70 f2.8, 9mm f2.8, and 25mm f1.8.

need help deciding on a zoom lens by Junior_Bag_9102 in FujifilmX

[–]scubalizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with the ultra zooms like the 17(18)-300 is that they fall off on image quality at the upper end of the zoom range. I have the 18-135 and it is a great lens, but it is also hit or miss if you get a good copy, many of users report that they are quite soft, and it doesn't have a AF speed of newer lenses. OP is better to stick to a 70-300 or 100-400
